"Sit still," Penelope giggled as she did (Y/n)'s (little) makeup. (Y/n)'s eyebrows furrowed as Penelope winged out some eyeshadow. "Relax," mused the blonde. Eventually, she pulled back. "Mascara and then we're done, all right?" she said. (Y/n) nodded, looking up as Penelope applied mascara. She capped the makeup and glanced at her clock. "We finished a bit early..." she murmured. "You sure that's what you want to wear?" she asked.

"Is it bad?" (Y/n) panicked.

"No, no! That isn't what I meant," she assured. "I'm just saying that we still have time to kill if you're considering changing." (Y/n) looked down at her green monochrome outfit consisting of a buttoned-up cardigan tucked into a skirt. She had leaf-patterned socks and green Converse. If not, we can... do your nails..." She grinned as (Y/n) beamed and held out her hands. "All right, let's see..." Penelope looked through her drawers. "I don't have many colours because they came from a set I got for Christmas, but take your pick." As (Y/n) looked over the eight colours, Penelope slightly filed her nails down. "Are you trying to grow them out?"

"Yeah," (Y/n) answered. "But I keep biting them whenever I've made any sort of progress." Penelope chuckled.

"My mum used to apply this sort of nail polish that was purposefully supposed to taste bad when I chewed my nails," Penelope informed. "Forget what it's called, but I'm sure you can find something. Or maybe having them constantly painted will help because who wants to taste nail polish?" (Y/n) snorted, choosing out only sparkly nail polish. "No colour? Just the glitter?" (Y/n) nodded.

"We're here to steal (Y/n)!" Cho cried as she entered Penelope's dorm. The two smiled over at the pair when they entered.

"Time?" Penelope asked.

"Um... two, I think," Marietta answered.

"No, I was asking— Never mind, never mind. Let's just go," Penelope mused.

"Remember to act surprised," Cho said as they headed down to the Common Room.

"I think almost everyone knows that you already know," said Marietta. "So that may not be a requirement."

"No, no, it's a time to really channel my inner actress," (Y/n) said. The girls snickered. "Where even is this party?" she asked.

"You remembered the location, right Mari?" Cho asked.

"Was I— Was I supposed to?" The two exchanged wide-eyed looks. "Penelope?" The blonde shrugged. "Oh no."

To their luck, they ran into Ben and Merula who were very clearly trying to hide something from (Y/n). The girl was unsure of what it was, so that was a good thing on their end, she assumed. As they reached a new set of stairs, Cho dragged (Y/n) back by covering her eyes. (Y/n) nearly tripped down the stairs in the process.

"Cho, I'm going to fall," (Y/n) wined.

"You won't. Trust me," Cho assured.

"That isn't very reassuring," (Y/n) answered.

"It's all right. They won't let you fall," Merula chimed somewhere below (Y/n). Penelope walked carefully down the stairs, for she was walking backwards, holding (Y/n)'s hands. Marietta was beside (Y/n), telling her when to step.

"I am walking to my doom!" (Y/n) cried. There was laughter from below, much closer than (Y/n) would have assumed. She turned her head but Cho turned it back.

"Almost there," Marietta said. "Five more steps."

"Five steps too few."

"What?"
