"Can't believe we still have three months of this," Marietta sighed out as she, Cho, and (Y/n) walked to the dining hall.

"No breaks either," Cho sighed out. "That's okay, though, because we're expanding our knowledge." (Y/n) smiled, shaking her head as Marietta deadpanned.

"It's all just the same stuff at some point," Marietta sighed. "And then we go a couple of months without being able to practice. Just... unjust for us students."

"What's it called? The Track? The Trace?"

"The Trace," (Y/n) answered. "And it helps the Ministry track when magic is used by or in the vicinity of a witch or wizard under the age of seventeen."

"Meaning we still have some time before we can do magic outside of school," Marietta sighed again. They took their seats at the Ravenclaw and were relatively silent as they served themselves breakfast. (Y/n) looked around patiently as owls flew into the hall, delivering letters to their respective. Her lips turned up as a red Howler was delivered to Professor Snape. She took a bite of her pancakes as a familiar roll of drums rang through the dining hall.
Muggle-borns and Half-bloods alike raised their heads, looking in Snape's blood. They exchanged large grins as the melody continued. Pure-bloods looked around in confusion. Was this some sort of Muggle song? Before the lyrics even started, the Howler stopped and tore itself to shreds. Snape stared daggers into the pile of red torn paper. Bill Weasley was cackling his heart out. Professor McGonagall was trying her very hardest not to laugh. Teachers who knew of the song tried hiding their smiles and those who didn't wore similar expressions to the Pure-blood students.
Tonks' head popped up from the Hufflepuff table and they grinned over at (Y/n), who had a smug aura around her as she silently ate, a proud smile on her face. They sat back down, feeling like an extremely proud parent.

"What a pleasant way to start your morning, Severus," said Dumbledore chirpily.

"Any idea who did it?" Penny mused, sending a knowing look at her partner.

"What? What was it? I don't get it," said Cedric.

"It's a Muggle song, Ced. Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley," Penny explained. "And someone," her eyes subtly glanced at the Ravenclaw table before she looked back at Cedric, "just sent Snape a Howler with the melody." She looked over at Snape who was sharply looking around the room, searching for anyone who may be the culprit.

"I have absolutely no idea what that meant," Fred Weasley said from the Gryffindor table at the very same time Penny and Cedric conversed, "but what a good way to come back from break." He wiped the stray tears from his laughter and partially straightened his back.

"Wonder who did it," Angelina said, sighting up straight and looking past the Weasley twins.

"Muggle-born, I assume," Katie said. "I know for a fact that that wasn't of the Wizarding World music."

"Wow. That really narrows things down," Lee replied sarcastically.

"Whoever they are, I doubt they'll reveal themselves," Alicia commented.

"Good point," Fred agreed. He turned, looking around the room. "You think it could be the Muggle-born we've befriended?"

"Which one?" Angelina scoffed.

"The Ravenclaw. Hufflepuffs are too cowardice to do something like that," Fred answered. "Plus our Ravenclaw is a try-hard. I wouldn't be surprised if she learned how to send a Howler."

"Why are we talking as if we don't remember (Y/n)—" Lee began. They all shushed him.

"Do you want our Ravenclaw to be identified as a potential subject?" Alicia said.
