Christmas dawned before (Y/n) knew it. She woke up with what she felt like was one too many presents. She got a lot of clothes and items in the art (none of which were from her godmothers). To name a few: Yvette had sent (Y/n) a tea and coffee kit with a French presser and a kettle that she was going to use the second she got to the Gryffindor common room; Lily, who was the only one who had seen (Y/n)'s collection of playbills and scripts, had sent her a Shakesperian box set of books (two of which (Y/n) already had, but she wouldn't admit that); Mary had sent (Y/n) some crystals in a pretty box; Remus sent some homemade chocolate and one of the extremely comfortable sweaters (Y/n) had made an off-handed comment about wearing; Cho had sent (Y/n) pretty vintage-style berets and an ugly Christmas sweater that she knitted; Cedric had gotten her an art journal with some paint.
(Y/n) had set aside the presents from the Weasley brothers (and Harry) and the presents for them aside as she changed into Cho's ugly sweater and comfortable jeans. She used her wand to levitate the presents and tea, coffee, French presser, and kettle and heads off towards the Gryffindor common room.

Fred and George, who were watching the map wondering when she's come, let her into the common room and Percy made no comment about the matter.

"Hey, did you get any news from your mum and dad about my present?" (Y/n) asked as she handed the three their presents. "I hope it didn't get lost..."

"Maybe..." Percy said. "What'd you send?"

"I sent your mum a bath kit because the woman deserves it for the amount of work she does," (Y/n) began, "and I sent your dad some books about Muggle objects." Percy smiled as he looked down at the letter their mother sent for the whole of them.

"Um... nothing about you..." Percy said. "But she did say she sent Harry a set of chocolate and a Weasley sweater," he said quietly.

"Speaking of sweaters, where's your sweater?" George asked. (Y/n) blinked, seemingly just noticing the twins had sweaters with their first initial. "And yours, too, Perce!"

"Did I miss the assignment? Were we supposed to make sweaters?" she panicked.

"Huh?" Fred asked, his eyebrows furrowing. "Did you not get one?"

"Where would I get one? Hogsmeade? I'm not a third-year in case you've forgotten."

"No, that's not what I—" Fred cut himself off with realization. "Oh..." he murmured. (Y/n) tilted her head as all three boys fell into a depressive silence.

"The boys up yet?" she asked.

"I think so. They'll be down in any minute, I reckon," Percy said. (Y/n) smiled.

"Where's your outlet?"

"Our what?" Fred asked, glancing up.

"Outlet?" (Y/n) repeated, holding up the plug to her kettle. The boys shrugged helplessly. (Y/n) huffed. "Well, how is this going to work out?" she asked herself. "Time for a science crash course, I guess. I will be literally right back. Don't you dare open your presents without me! Also wouldn't hurt to get my camera..."

Fifteen minutes later, (Y/n) was back with probs and copper wire. She patiently waited to be let in and only then did she notice the lack of the Fat Lady. She did a rhythmic knock against the frame and shortly after, the door was opened by Percy.

"Fred and George went off to get Harry and Ron," said Percy. (Y/n) nodded. "I'll go get them." As he was gone, (Y/n) started setting up her test experiment. She connected two pieces of the copper wire to the battery and then she connected two more pieces of wire to the metal rods. Casting, a water filling spell onto the kettle, she adjusted the settlings then tapped her wand to the rods and murmured a spell. The kettle came to life.
