"Mumsie!" Tonks shouted, rapidly waving their hands. Andromeda Tonks looked over at her child with a soft smile."Hi, Dora," the woman greeted, welcoming her child with open arms. "You must be (Y/n)?" she continued, peeking over Tonks' shoulder to look at (Y/n). The girl nodded shyly. "Pleasure to meet you, lovely. I'm Andromeda, but you can call me whatever you are comfortable with." Tonks' eyes danced in amusement as (Y/n) nodded again.
"Where's dad?" they asked.
"Your father had to use the restroom," Andromeda mused. "So I told him to meet us outside the barrier with drinks. After the fact, of course." She looked back at the two. "Do you have your bags already?" she asked.
"Yeah," Tonks answered for them.
"Brilliant, let's go you two," Andromeda instructed. She took the lead and led the two away from the gathering families and through the barrier. "Ted, darling!" Andromeda raised her hand level with her face and waved it. A beaming man jogged over, carrying a drink tray.
"I had absolutely no clue what either of you wanted, so I settled for peach green tea," he informed, pecking his wife's lips. "Hello! I'm Ted, Ted Tonks," he introduced, smiling at (Y/n) as Tonks and Andromeda grabbed a drink.
"(Y/n) (Y/l/n)," the girl said quietly.
"I know," the man mused. Tonks handed a drink to (Y/n) before patting her head.
"Away we go?" asked Tonks.
"Away we go."
"You likely won't remember this, but we have met once," Ted informed as he drove through the streets of London. "You were no more than a babe when we offered our house as a Safe House for the first wizarding war. You, your mum, and your dad hid at our place for a couple of months before You-know-who's defeat was officially announced, the Potters and Longbottoms went into hiding, and Dromeda's cousin was sent to Azkaban. Lovely family you lot were, yes, yes. How are they, by the way?" he asked, looking in the rearview mirror. Tonks grimaced, rapidly gesturing at their dad to stop talking. Andromeda rose an eyebrow, glancing back at her child in question.
"They're, um, dead as of a year and a half ago," (Y/n) said quietly. The silence that fell in the car spoke volumes.
"Oh..." Ted mumbled. "I'm sorry... That's awful. (Y/n) nodded, looking out the window.
"You know, I think I may still have some spare things left during your guys' last visit," Andromeda spoke.
"Of course you do." Tonks playfully rolled their eyes. "Funny that even with how clean you are, you keep everything."
"I do not!" Andromeda objected.
"You still have Dora's baby items," Ted mused.
"For memories! And you never know, you may want to use it for your future kids! If you want any of course," Andromeda said.
"Uh-huh. And what about the clothes?"
"Emotional value!" Tonks smiled, shaking their head at their mum.
As they drove along a country road, Ted reached up and pressed a button, opening the gates to a house. He turned in and pressed the button again, closing the gates. (Y/n) was deeply confused by the lack of a house but the second they were past the gates, it started to appear as though magically enchanted (it was). On either side of a dirt road was a patch of growing grass and empty flower beds (Andromeda had planted the seeds but now had to wait).
From where Ted parked, there was another patch of grass and then two sets of stairs that connected into somewhat of a bridge. Then there was a house, white, maybe, once, but now it was aged. Behind the house was a hill and surrounding the entirety of the residence was a ring of forest, hiding it from the plain eye.
