FP had just dressed himself and took Hot Dog's leash, before gesturing him to come closer. The dog happily walked into the bedroom, which Gladys didn't approve of at all. How silly it was, it was her last straw. She has had enough. So, she got off out off bed and looked at him for a second, before deciding that she wasn't going to compromise anymore.
"This isn't working any longer, FP." She suddenly blurted out, making him turn on his heel.
"What do you mean?" He asked innocently, not sensing what she was getting at. She sighed. Was he really that oblivious?
"You randomly got a dog, you're either with your friends or with Alice, and if you're finally here you won't even touch me but you have no problem with giving yourself a hand in the shower." She crossed her arms and gave him a sassy eyebrow. It was just the beginning of things that were getting on her nerves.
"I just wasn't in the mood to have sex, Gladys. Jeez." He scoffed annoyed, while feeling ashamed at the same time.
"What you did in the shower suggests otherwise." She spat.
"Are you spying on me or something? Ever heard of privacy?" FP scolded, feeling that she crossed a boundary there that annoyed him to no end.
"Did you think about her?" Gladys asked straight away, no shame in sight.
"About who?" FP scoffed.
"Did you think of Alice while you were in the shower?" She cleared up, her eyes burning with rage.
"I am not having this conversation with you." FP growled, trying to keep his own anger to a minimum.
"Oh but we are, FP!" Gladys began to raise her voice, and when he wanted to walk away she roughly took his arm.
"You have to choose, because I'm done." She stated, giving him the ultimatum that she had been thinking about for too long now.
"Are you fucking kidding me right now?!" FP suddenly burst, after having kept his annoyance and anger to himself for a long time.
"Is this your idea of a relationship?" He wondered, his voice sounding angry, but it was with no doubt layered with hurt.
"From the moment we met, you tried to rub my weaknesses in my nose. You even made sure I was doubting myself as a father as if shit wasn't complicated enough already." His eyes filled with tears and suddenly he saw what he should have seen months before.
"You encouraged me to drink when I was very clear that I quit, and don't even get me started on the way you've treated my friends."
"Your friends, FP?! Is that what it's about? Or it is because of how I act around Alice? It's about her, right?!" Gladys yelled back.
"She is the mother of my child! Of course that matters to me!" FP exclaimed frantically, still not getting why he had to explain her what Alice meant to him and what kind of role she had in his life.
"She would have been the mother of your child, FP! But she isn't! Accept that and move on!" She threw those words in his face like it was nothing. FP's face fell, and he tried hard not to cry.
"Besides, you're one to talk. You thought I would be the personal cheerleader of your pregnancy with your ex-girlfriend that you so obviously were still hung up on. Are you really that naive or did you just think I was stupid? I stood up for myself." She pointed outed, getting emotional herself now too.
From all the things FP disagreed with, he knew that with this she was right. It hadn't been fair. All this hadn't been fair to either of them.
"So I want to know the truth FP. For once, just be fucking honest." Gladys said defeatedly.
