It was the end of the afternoon when FP returned home from work, craving nothing more than a long hot shower. He intended to stick through with those plans and relax with a movie the rest of the night and made order some Thai food, but as he walked into his home he noticed that Alice was already there with a giddy smile on her face. He raised an eyebrow with a knowing smile curling on his lips.

"I wanted to do something nice for you." She said, only smiling brighter.

Behind her, she had something hidden under a blanket, making him grow curious about what she had in mind. She walked closer to him and tugged him by the hand, making him laugh.

"I have no idea how to repay you for all that you do for me, but I wanted to let you know how much I love you." Her eyes twinkled, making FP drown in them even more.

"At first I wanted to draw you a relaxing bath, with scented candles, but then I realized you're not really a bath guy." She said, as he swayed them playfully, totally getting lost in her eyes.

"So, I did this instead." Alice took a step back out of his arms, and tugged the blanket aside.

His eyes grew wider and the happy spark in his eyes made her heart jump. She had prepared all the old video games they used to play together as teenagers, to relive the old days were it was just them, protected by each other's presence.

"Oh my god, Al..." FP chuckled sweetly.

"These are all the vintage video games we used to play together. I thought it would be fun." She said with a smile, somehow insecure if he would like it.

"This is perfect. I love you." He kissed her hard, totally overwhelmed by her surprise. It was simple, but more meaningful than he could tell her.

"I'm so going to beat your ass." She grinned brightly when she pulled back, before grabbing one of the joysticks. There curled a knowing smile on his lips.

"What are you smiling at?" Alice teased.

"I just love seeing you happy." He shrugged softly, as he took a seat on the floor too.

"The main reason I loved these games so much was because I got to spend time with you." He grabbed her hand, as her face softened.

"I loved letting you win so I could see you smile," FP grinned brighter.

"I won fairly!" Alice exclaimed with a laugh.

"Oh you certainly did not." FP shook his head with a smirk. Alice laughed too.

"I remember those days." Her face softened and there was a hint of hurt in her eyes as the thought of these memories.

"You couldn't speak about what was happening to you, so we played these games instead." She said, swallowing a little.

"Having fun with you was all that mattered to me. You made life seem worth it." He said softly, before kissing her knuckles.

"Even with all the evil around us, I knew things would be fine because I had you."

"I'm so sorry." Alice croaked. FP scooted over closer to her, to make sure he could pull his arm around her.

"I don't want you to apologize for the past ever again, Alice. Our future is what matters, okay?" He said sweetly, cupping her cheek with his hand.

"As long as you know that I will be with you for the rest of my days." Alice promised sincerely.

"I love you." FP smiled.

"I love you too." Alice pecked a soft kiss on his lips.

"Come, I'll let you win again so I can see that gorgeous smile of yours." FP teased, loving how it could make her laugh.
