The holidays had passed, New Year's Eve was just a couple days ago, which meant returning back to daily life, and old routines. FP was working in the Wyrm again, just stocking some bottles before they would open that night, when he ran into the girl had been on a date with— Gladys.

She seemed to have stopped by, no matter the clear closed sign outside.

"You look like you the holidays were rough on you." She said, laughing a little when she took place on one of the barstools.

"They were actually quite okay." FP said, shrugging slightly. He didn't really care about it, but they definitely hadn't been awful.

"You get along with your family?" She questioned.

"Considering my friends are my family, yeah I do." He smiled slightly.

"No parents? Siblings?" Gladys urged on, curious about his life outside of the bar.

"I really don't want to talk about this." FP said, casting his eyes away. Talking about it would bring up too many painful memories.

"Alright..." Gladys was a little caught of guard by his distant behavior, but then remembered the walls he had around him.

"Well, I do have something for us to ring in the new year." She figured it would cheer him up, so when she grabbed the small plastic zip bag with weed in it, he did smile as expected.

"You're a Godsend, aren't you? This is exactly what I need right now." FP smirked. He didn't even realize that he needed to relax until he saw that.

Fortunately FP was alone that afternoon, so he took advantage of the situation and walked outside with her, to sit against the wall of the bar. The sun was shining, and it was oddly warm for a January day, which only told him that it might be a good day.

"Thanks for stopping by, my mind has been everywhere." He said, feeling guilty for acting so distant. She lit his joint after lighting her own, and shrugged.

"That's okay. I know exactly how that is." She gave him a small smile, before taking another drag.

"That's what I like about you. You get me." He elbowed her softly, hoping she'd know that he did truly appreciate her presence.

"Good thing we found each other then." Gladys said, giving him a wink.

"I can just feel my whole body relax." FP breathed out and closed his eyes for a few seconds, until he felt a hand creeping on his leg.

"We can do some other relaxing activities." Gladys said, biting her lip seductively.

"You can read my mind perfectly." FP growled, before leaning in to kiss her. She kissed him back hungrily, but when they were trying o undress each other they couldn't help but giggle.

It didn't help that they were outside either, so Gladys helped him getting up so they could continue this inside, but he could barely keep his balance.

"Okay, soldier. Sit down." She laughed, but he could only laugh.

"Ayai, Captain." He saluted her while chuckling and let himself fall back to their precious position. Gladys sat back down too, catching her breath just slightly.

"My Dad's an asshole." FP said suddenly, his face having turned completely serious.

"You want to talk about your father now?" Gladys wondered, after he had been so defensive about it barely ten minutes ago.

"He was an asshole. He's dead." He shrugged, before taking another drag of his joint.

"I hope the worms have eaten his body." He said.
