Alice came walking out of FP's bedroom, having decided to let him sleep in a little longer. She smiled when she saw that Fred was up already, which meant she didn't have to drink her morning coffee all alone.
"Hey roomie." Fred grinned, when she walked her way. Alice irked her eyebrow.
"What? You spend almost every night here, it's like we're living together." He said, giving her a beaming smile.
"You would love that, Fred. Wouldn't you?" She teased, while pouring herself a cup of coffee.
"You wish." Fred winked.
"Speaking of roomies... don't you want to live with Poppy?" Alice brought in carefully, not wanting to startle him with her question.
"Yeah, of course I would. We're going strong, I love her with all my heart." Fred said sweetly. He had never been so sure about a relationship than he was with Poppy.
"But y'know, I've got FP to take care of." He said, his voice still soft.
"What if you wouldn't anymore?" Alice said knowingly.
"Most people don't plan a murder out loud, Alice." Fred teased. Alice laughed.
"I mean, what if FP and I would live together, so Poppy could move in with you?" She proposed, her eyes soft and a little insecure. She hadn't even asked FP yet, but she wanted to know how Fred would feel about it.
"You guys are thinking about getting your own place?" Fred asked curiously. He hadn't heard FP talking about it.
"Well, yeah... it only makes sense. Mary is going into labour in a two months, so I want to be out of their hair. It feels right." Alice said, shrugging her shoulders a little bit.
"What is holding you back?" Fred sensed something was on her mind that she really wanted to share.
"He might not want to." Alice looked down at her cup of coffee and hated how she could feel her cheeks heat up.
"Alice, have you seen that man look at you? He loves you almost as much as he loves me." Fred said, his lips curling into a big smile when he saw the look on her face. She chuckled and playfully hit his chest, making him gasp.
"Hey, hey, no need to slap me! I'm just stating facts." He laughed, pretending to be hurt.
"He'll say yes in a heartbeat, Alice. Trust me on this one." Fred took her hand into his own and squeezed it assuringly. He knew FP well enough to know that he couldn't wait to start his life with Alice.
As if they had summoned him, the door of FP's bedroom opened and he walked into the living room with his messy hair and sleepy eyes.
"A man has to be very lucky to wake up to these adorable faces." He grinned upon seeing them.
"See, the guy loves me." Fred pointed out, making Alice roll her eyes teasingly.
"I do, Freddie. But she is something else." FP's voice was still raspy from just waking up, and he turned to Alice to grab her face into his hands and kiss her goodmorning.
"I hate how adorable you are." Fred shook his head, looking at the kissing couple who didn't seem to get enough from each other.
The other bedroom door opened too, revealing Poppy, who still seemed to be a bit sleepy too. Maybe that was a Jones thing, to sleep for hours and still not having enough.
"Did we wake you, babe?" Fred asked, as he walked her way and took her hand.
"Waking up to the sound of you fighting over who FP loves more is not new." She teased, referring to the discussions Fred and Alice used to have when they were over at the trailer in their teenage years.
