"It sure is."
He laid down on my knees, and turned to the screen.
"There's nothing to do in this town."
"It really isn't. But then again other towns are the same way probably."
"Probably not, I bet they're a lot better than this run down place."
"It's not that run down, we do have a mall,"
He smirked, turning over to his back. His head followed with his brown eyes on me now. He had an odd expression smeared across, as if he was saying something important soon. There was no frown, yet no smile, yet no blank face, just a mixture of them all. He bit his lip. For a second I thought he would pop the question, but I decided it was too soon for that.
"I'm moving," he said quickly.
All I could hear was my heart beating in my chest. I had fallen too far for him to let him just right up and say I'm leaving.
"What?" I said with no real distinction in my tone.
"No, not like that, I'm moving to the other side of town."
I didn't want it to be seen so prominent in the situation that I was so relieved I could die, but I'm pretty sure it did.
"Oh. Well why'd you say it like that?"
He paused, scared about his reply. What could possibly be so painful?
"It's where my ex lives."
I could see the uneasiness needed in the problem.
"Oh," I said.
"Yeah."
"Well, I don't have a problem with it, you guys dated when you were like 13."
"Yeah, but most girls would hear ex and then go crazy and yell and everything."
It was obvious what I was going to say. I actually enjoyed the statement; it became my own little catchphrase.
"I'm not like most-"
"Girls," he finished with The Grin.
He sat up, then stood.
"Well, I have to check back to make sure they both haven't killed everyone," He laughed.
"Bye Ted."
"Bye London."
He opened the door, and walked out, but before he was fully gone he jumped his head back in.
"Oh, I almost forgot my mom asked if you wanted to come with us out of town for the week."
"Really?"
"I said this town was boring. You can't be left here to die."
I jumped up screaming and grinning.
"We're leaving in two days."
"Oh my gosh thank you!"
I ran to him and locked on to him like a boa constrictor breaking his back probably.
"I love you."
The three words seemed to echo in the air.
"Come on Mara!" A little boy screamed in the background from outside.
He had proved time didn't stand still, but it sure felt like it. We just stood there, feeling each other's feeling of what happened.
She said I love you.
