31st October 1972

I knocked on Freddie's door and took a few steps back as I waited for someone to answer. I could faintly hear the muffled music and a little chatter from inside, but this seemed to be a much smaller party for a Freddie Mercury party.

"Lottie, hiya, love that dress." Veronica opened the door and quickly pulled my figure through the frame with a bright smile on her face.

"Thank you." We exchanged another small smile as I followed her through to the living room where I found the boys and of course their girlfriends. The room was a a lot less cramped, there were only a few faces I didn't recognise, and the kitchen was full only of different drinks rather than loud drunks.

Roger and Brian were sat on the couch, Lucy on the drummers lap wearing a ridiculously small dress and bright red lipstick. Deaky was sat in the arm chair and I briefly noticed Freddie and Mary caught up in a small crowd of people I didn't recognise.

"God she looks like a slag." I whispered. Veronica put her hand over her mouth to hide her fit of giggles before she squeezed in next to John on the arm chair. I sat in between the two boys on the couch and nervously tapped my foot a little.

"You alright Tee ? nice dress." Brian smiled.

"Yeah yeah good thanks."

"Are you ever gonna be on time Peps ?" I turned to face Roger, but still managed to keep my eyes off of the blonde on his lap.

"Not likely." I laughed a little. Roger noticed a little silver sparkle in my ear and gently tucked my hair behind it to get a closer look at my earnings. I smiled a little and blushed, instantly warmed up by the drummers small gesture.

"I like those earrings. Suit you." He smirked.

"Thank you. That necklace isn't too shabby." I picked up the large silver coin pendant that sat below his collarbones and gently dropped it again as I heard a pair of footsteps edge closer towards the sofa. I turned away from the drummer to find Freddie and Mary both smiling.

"Nice you showed up." Freddie laughed.

"Well I run out of drinks at home so... here I am." Freddie rolled his eyes playfully and shook his head.

"At least you're here. Happy Halloween darling."

The night moved slower than I'd expected it to. Only about half an hour after I'd arrived I found myself still sat between Brian and Roger, but waiting for the opportunity to go home. There was an odd tension in the air, maybe even only one that I felt, but I hoped the drink in my hands would soon relive me from it.
The couples of the eight of us (excluding Roger and the girl on his lap) were now sat round the kitchen table, most likely to get a break from the hot atmosphere of the living room.

I noticed an unfamiliar face sat in the arm chair, one who's eyes kept catching mine. I smiled at him this time, and he gave me a very small wave back with an even brighter smile pulling at his lips.

"Brian, I don't suppose you know who that guy there is. Sat in the arm chair." I subtly gestured to the brunette I'd smiled at as I spoke. Brian took a moment to think and shrugged, but didn't have and idea who he was.

"I think he's a friend of Mary's." Lucy added.

"Makes sense." I nodded. I looked over at him again and bit down on my lip with a slight nervousness when I realised his eyes weren't leaving my frame, which immediately caught Roger's attention. The drummer nudged me a little, slightly annoying the girl on his lap.

"What ?" I chuckled a little.

"Cmon Peps go for it." My mouth dropped open a little. I'd smiled at the guy in the arm chair a couple of times, and now Roger was pushing me to 'go for it'.
