14th March 1976

"Right Peanut- what shop do you think we should go to first...?" Roger leaned down to the pram and happily questioned his daughter in the middle of the shopping centre. He'd dragged us both along to come buy some new stuff before he went on his tour- one that was coming along much quicker that I liked.

"Peanut ? Where did that nick name come from ?" I questioned. There were many things he'd called our daughter in the short span of her being here but peanut was a first. Usually it was tiny or Emz, or once he called her bug eyes- which I did not approve of.

"I dunno. If you look at her from an angle she kinda looks like a little peanut..." He turned his head to the side and looked down at Emily in the pram as I pushed it along.

"Roger Meddows Taylor did you just compare our daughter to a peanut ?"

"Well no. Well yeah." He admitted guilty.

"You do struggle to call people by their actual names don't you..."

"I suppose. Anyways... I think we should go over there first- there's a coat in the window I like."  He pointed in the direction of an outrageous fur coat and then glanced back at me as he waited for a nod of approval.

"Ok ok ok ok... but please can I get a milkshake after ? I really, really, really want a vanilla milkshake." I sighed. He chuckled a little until he realised I was being deadly serious, which he then followed with a nod. We slowly toddled over to the store Roger had been pointing at both staring down at Emily in the pram until I felt Roger's eyes fall onto me. He held the glance for a little while before he let out a little
sigh.

"What ?" I questioned quietly. He stood still on the spot, which I did too when I noticed he'd stopped.

"I'm just gonna miss you both when I go."

"You're not going to war Roger... you'll be back in a couple of months." I reassured him. He shook his head from left to right before nodding a little. I was gonna miss him a lot, more than I wanted to admit, and I was sad he wasn't gonna be with Emily. I tried to hide it though, pretend I wasn't as upset as I really was. I knew he'd be touring probably for the rest of his life, and I never wanted any girl to ruin that for him. Wether it was his fiancé or his daughter.

"I know I know. I'm gonna miss Emily more though... I mean look at that little face how couldn't I ?" He bent down to the pram again and cooed at his daughter.

"Wow. I'm offended." I chuckled. He peeled himself back up and we started walking back along again, this time finally reaching the fur coat Roger was certain he was about to buy.

"Do you want that milkshake or not ? Now cmon I want that bloody coat."

-

The three of us soon winded up back at home, Roger trying on every new item he'd bought as Emily sat contently in my arms, her tiny little hands rested besides her face as she slept. I did end up having a milkshake, finally, but it didn't last me all that long when Roger tried it and realised he liked it too.

"Is this shirt alright ? Or too... well it's bright I suppose." Roger asked, glancing at himself in the mirror above the fireplace as I nodded slightly.

"You are quite short aren't you... I mean compared to me you look tallish. But then next to Brian you're tiny. But on your own, your actually fairly little."
He almost flew around, eyebrows furrows as I laughed and titled my head to the side slightly. "You're fairly skinny as well. Scrawny."

"Ouch." He held his hands on his heart sarcastically as I giggled quietly, not wanting to disturb the little girl in my arms. "Atleast I can reach the top shelve in the fridge. Next time you want me to get the orange juice I met just say no."

"Low blow... even for you." I laughed, my eyes momentarily parting from his as he pulled the shirt over his head and tossed it onto the armchair.

"The shirts alright though yeah ?" Roger asked again, gently taking a seat besides me before letting out a short sigh and flicking the tv on at a low volume. I smiled, nodding as our eyes met.

"Yeah. It's nice. You look much better without it though." He smirked, his head falling back against the sofa as he looked at with me with a slightly admiration.

That same little glance we shared never changed, not in all the years I'd known him. The only time the feeling felt matched, or even familiar, was when my eyes would meet Emily's. The same big, blue eyes they both had that I would always be in love with.

He leaned a little closer towards me, gently cupping my cheek before kissing me softly. The feeling of his lips against mine would never get boring either, and nor would the butterflies he woke up in the process.

"I love you." He smiled, gently pulling back from me as his hand fell from my face.

"I love you too."

"And I love you Princess." Roger leaned down and gently kissed Emily's forehead gently, taking one of her tiny little hands in his like he always would.

I always did, and always will, love how much he adored her. Considering I was terrified to tell him I was even pregnant, he absolutely loved her more than anything- probably more than me. But I didn't mind.

He gently scooped her up from my arms, holding her closely to him as she stirred a little, letting his arm wrap around me as her hand fell from his grasp. I could tell he was gonna miss her a lot more than he thought, but I also knew the second he got back from every tour he would smother her with every little bit of affection he could.

"Just don't wake her up..." I laughed a little, peeling myself off the sofa to put the kettle on as he nodded slightly. It only took me to get to the kitchen and grab the kettle before I heard her make a little noise and Roger try and shush her.

I turned on my heel to see in the span of literally a couple of seconds her eyes were wide open as she stretched out. Roger's eyes widened as he bit down on his bottom lip to try and hide a laugh.

"Sorry." He mumbled.

"What did you even do ! All I did was walk to the kitchen." I laughed a little as he shrugged, chuckling at the little figure in his arms as she sat with her eyes staring up at him.

"Well... I did try and take her little hat off... which I don't think she liked."

"She's wearing it for a reason you muppet ! Keep her little head warm. God sometimes it's like I've got two children with you in the house."

"Wow." He scoffed a little. "You're such a mum it's unreal." I laughed a little before throwing a teabag at him, his mouth sat wide open in response as i sniggered.

"You're lucky I have her in my arms. And you're lucky I love you otherwise I would bloody kill you."
