✰ chapter 22 ✰

Bryce POV//

I was sat doing some emails whilst addison was on the phone to Dixie. I think Addison has been having pains and isn't telling me because she doesn't want to freak me out. I was just about to make a phone call before I see addison walk in.

B: oh hey babe?
A: hey, um I think I'm having contractions
B: wait already?
A: yeah when I was on the phone to Dixie I got about 4 in 20 minutes.
B: do we need to go to the hospital? •I was really freaked out and scared•
A: no we need to call my midwife and she will tell us what to do
B: right okay, do you want me to speak or you?
A: no it's fine I can.

Addison POV//

I had just told Bryce and now we are going to call my midwife. It started ringing and soon after she answered.

M=midwife or Mary because that's her name haha

M: hello?
A: hi this is um Addison Easterling and I'm 38 weeks pregnant
M: oh hello addison, are you ok?
A: no im pretty sure im having contractions
M: right ok, how far apart are they?
A: 5 minutes
M: ok so what I would recommend is come down if they get to 2 minutes apart, or if your waters break before that then come down.
A: ok thank you
M: that's fine, see you soon

She hung up and luckily because I started to get another one. I just breathed heavily as I felt Bryce rub my back.

B: what did she say?
A: she said wait till they are 2 minutes apart or when my waters break
B: oh ok so he's definitely coming soon then?
A: yes... •I nod nervously•
B: do you want me to do anything?
A: no I'm just gonna relax
B: wow ok i guess calm before the storm •he laughed•

I was just trying to stay calm as I didn't want to stress loads, i was just going to keep breathing cause that's the most I can do at the moment.

It has been about 30 minutes and my contractions were definitely getting stronger and closer, I was about to get up and then my water broke. Fuck it was starting to get real now.

A: BABE • I yelled•

Bryce runs in all panicked

B: you ok love?
A: my water broke
B: omg ok it's actually happening, um you go get changed I will sort this out.
A: o-ok

Bless Bryce he was more nervous than me. I went to our room and changed into some different sweats, nothing fancy obviously, I was going to have to take them off later anyway. I saw Bryce rush into our room and grab the bags, I felt so bad how scared he was. I was just keeping calm on the outside but in reality on the inside i was very panicked.

Bryce POV//

I couldn't believe Addison's water just broke, it all started to feel so real. I was rushing around getting everything in the car whilst poor addi
was in so much pain. Once I was done I went to go get her.

B: right you ready baby
A: I guess

I helped her into the car and I started driving to the hospital and also tried to comfort addison as much as I could. She was getting very worked up about everything and I didn't want her stressing.

Once we arrived we met her midwife and we went to a room, she checked addison and she was at 6 so we still had a while. I had texted our family to tell them as well. It was 5pm so most likely he would be here early hours in the morning or at least that's what our midwife predicted. To be honest addison was coping so well, she hasn't screamed once but there is still time. I was comforting her as much as I could.

Addison POV//

I was now 8cm so not long until I meet my baby boy. I'm in so much pain now since I didn't have chance for an epidural, Bryce is being so supportive though. It was now 1:30am so I was also really tired and so was Bryce. Sadly my mom couldn't come and support me, we wanted her to but because of covid she can't.

B: how you feeling babe?
A: tired and in pain
B: your doing so good though
A: thanks baby •he kisses me• it's been like 9 hours now
B: I guess he's being stubborn
A: well he needs to stop!
B: he will be here soon love.

M: one last push addison.

I pushed one last time, I have been pushing for 25 minutes now.

Finally he was here!! I heard his cries as they placed him onto my chest. He was so perfect already. I instantly started to cry and I looked up at Bryce who was tearing up, I held our baby close to my chest. Bryce kissed my head and told me how well I did, I was so grateful for him! Our little boy stopped crying and after 10
minutes the midwife took him to run some tests and weigh him and all that.

Bryce POV//

Our baby boy was here finally. I looked at him on Addison's chest as she cried. I started to tear up as well.

Once the nurses had cleaned him up they put a diaper on him and a tiny hat, now it was my turn to hold him. She bought him over to me and she placed him on my chest, they told me to take my shirt off. He was so little and I couldn't believe he was ours. I held his tiny hand and then the nurses left us to ourselves.

We got our little boy dressed into just a plain white sleeper with a baby grow underneath. He already hates getting changed and it was also so hard because he was so small. Both Addison and I are going to announce he is born but we aren't showing his face just yet.
