Addison POV// •2 weeks later•

We had just gotten back off our amazing trip and we loved it so much, it was such a nice time away from work and stress and just to have some quality family time. But now we are back to the reality of LA and lemme tell you I didn't miss it one bit. It's hard enough to work and live in LA before throwing into the mix you have an almost 9 month old who all he wants to do is touch everything or put it in his mouth and with covid around that is the worst thing for him to do. We try to stop him but then he has a meltdown and screams which is really embarrassing when paparazzi are filming you and then you get all the comments of people judging the way you parent. So yes LA is very stressful and I'd much rather be on vacation in the Bahamas everyday however it's not possible but a girl can dream.

Today Bryce and I planned working a little, Bryce more than me since he needed to film a YouTube video today. I had just woken up and Bryce and Ryder were still asleep, Ryder sleeps in his own room now but we have a monitor and everything. I was surprised ry was still asleep because it's 8:30 and he's an early riser like me he usually wake up around 6. Something as a mother told me I should go check on him so I did. I got up out of bed and went to his room which was just across from ours, I opened the door and saw my little baby fast asleep in his crib but he had very rosy cheeks which made me worry. Instantly I realised he might be sick so I went over to him and put my hand on his forehead and he had a fever. It all made sense now to why he was still asleep, I didn't know wether to wake him up and find out what's wrong with him or leave him to sleep and then he might wake up feeling better? I decided to go and tell Bryce before I made any decisions.

A: baby?
B: huh yeah •he said half asleep•
A: Ry Ry has a big fever and I don't know what to do?
B: what do you mean? •he immediately began to wake up•
A: well I noticed he was still asleep at 8:30 so something told me to go and check on him and when I did he had little rosy cheeks and I felt his head and he has a fever.
B: oh fuck... what are we gonna do?
A: that's why I came to you because I don't know wether to wake him and take him to the doctors or let him sleep and hopefully he will wake up fine?
B: no babe go wake him, we should take him to the doctors to make sure
A: okay!

I go back through to Ryder's room and begin to rub his back. He stirs a little bit but not very much so I pick him up and lay him on my shoulder. He kinda woke up but he was still half asleep, I just took him into our room.

Bryce POV//

Addison just told me Ryder has a fever so I told her to go wake him up so we can check on him. She came through with a little red baby on her shoulder who was half asleep, his little chubby cheeks were rosy and hot yet he looked so pale.

B: babe pass him here and then go get the thermometer and some baby Tylenol.
A: okay •she passes him to me and he wakes up•

She leaves to go get the stuff and Ryder began to cry. I didn't know if he may be hungry so I yelled to addison to get him a little something to eat so we could see if he was still eating properly. I tried to calm him down but he was crying but not a sad cry like a cry of pain, that absolutely hurt my heart. Addison came back up and Ryder made grabby arms to her because whenever he is sick he is a massive mommy's boy. She took him and I tried to take his temperature and it was 101° which was considered a fever for a baby.

B: shit
A: what's wrong
B: he's 101°
A: oh fuck that isn't good
B: no, see if he will eat something

I offered Ryder some of a baby granola bar but he turned his head every time obviously to indicate he wasn't hungry but he needed to eat so he wouldn't feel anymore sick than he already was.

B: babe why do you try nurse him?
A: yeah I could
B: it might be the only way to get him to eat?
A: it's a good idea

Addison lifted up her shirt and then tried to see if Ryder would latch on which he did but after about 2 minute he didn't want anymore because every time he swallowed he looked in pain.

A: baby maybe his throat is hurting
B: I was thinking the same thing
A: we should book him an appointment
B: yeah I will ring them up now.

Addison POV//

Bryce rang the doctors office and they managed to fit us in for in an hour so we decided to get ready. Ryder was asleep again but in our bed because I managed to get him to have a little bit more milk and it sent him straight to sleep. I just got into sweats with a comfy cropped shirt and Bryce has sweats with a muscle shirt. I was just going to leave Ryder in his pyjamas because I didn't want to wake him and they were comfy for him. I sat on the bed next to Ryder and I couldn't resist not cuddling him so I lifted him into my lap and held him close into my stomach, he didn't blink an eye.
