Bryce POV//

We had just arrived at the doctors office for Ryder's appointment and he was sleeping, we were in the waiting room waiting for our turn since we were a little early. I hope it's noting serious and they can just prescribe some medication and then he can be better in the next few days. Addison and I were just on our phones when the doctor walked out.

D: Ryder Hall?
A: yes that's us
D: follow me this way

We followed her into a room and Addison woke Ryder up which he wasn't too happy about. Addison held him as they did things like check his blood pressure, listen to his heart and all the general stuff  and then she did some tests. She did a covid test, RSV test, strep throat test and a flu test since those were all of the viruses he had symptoms for. She left to take them to the lab and so it was just Addison, Ryder and me.

B: you ok babe?
A: yeah I just really hope he doesn't have covid.
B: me too but I don't think he will
A: she said he's most liked caught something because he is at that age where he touches everything and puts things in his mouth.
B: yeah I wouldn't worry baby he's gonna be ok
A: I know

Ryder was crawling around on the examination table and we let him because this is the most playful he has been since he woke up. The nurse came back in to tell us the results.

N: right so we did one PCR covid test which came back negative
A: oh thanks god
N: his strep throat test and flu test also both came back negative
B: that's good
N: however his RSV test came back positive but luckily he has the minored version of it so he will not need monitoring or a breathing tube he just needs rest and I can prescribe you with medication for it to clear in the next 3 days
A: oh that's good thank you
N: one other thing it is highly contagious for other children not so much adults but I would 100% recommend keeping him away from any other children until his symptoms have subsided
B: ok we will do that

She handed us a prescription to pick up Ryder's RSV medicine from a pharmacy which we did on the way home. When we got home Ryder had a nap and Addison and I caught up on some work. (For those who don't know what RSV is, it's Respiratory syncytial virus which causes people to have trouble breathing and it can be very serious in some cases)

Addison POV//

Bryce and I were doing some work whilst Ryder was napping and i suddenly felt really ill, i got really hot all of a sudden and then my head began to hurt. I really hoped I wasn't getting RSV like Ryder. The nurse said it's rarely contagious for adults but Ryder has been clinging to me like a limpet all day today so it wouldn't be a shock if I had caught it. I just decided I was going to have a drink of water and then go and have lie down.

A: baby?
B: yes my love
A: I feel really sick I'm going to have a lie down
B: ok babe I hope you haven't got what Ryder has
A: me too

I went to our room and crawled into bed under the covers.

I had been asleep for all of 30 minutes until I woke up feeling the urge to puke. I ran to the bathroom and threw up, I heard Bryce run in not long after. I brushed my teeth and Bryce began talking to me.

B: are you ok babe
A: fine I guess
B: I don't think you do have what Ryder has because you have completely different symptoms.
A: then what do I have if it's is RSV?
B: I'm not sure babe, I'm sorry but I have a zoom call so I will be back to check on you afterwards?
A: okay love you
B: love you more

Bryce left and I got back into bed trying to figure out why I was feeling so sick, I mean if it's not anything respiratory based like covid, flu and all of that then what is it? I began to think hard until something daunted me, something I never imagined would be happening, I can't be pregnant can I? I mean I feel the exact way I did when I was pregnant with Ryder, I'm 3 days late but usually I'm late so it didn't phase me at all. Bryce and I last had sex in the Bahamas about 2 weeks ago so it is possible. Fuck. I'm not ready for another kid not yet anyway, what was I going to do? Calm down addison just take a test first before you start overthinking.

I went to the bathroom cabinet and I got out a pregnancy test, I opened it up and did what it said and left it on the counter face down for 3 minutes. I sat down on the bed anxiously and went on my phone until 3 minutes was up. I couldn't believe I was in the position again.

3 minutes passed and I went back to the bathroom, I was nervous my hands were shaking, I lifted the test up and it was still face down. In my head I counted '3,2,1' and as it got to 1 i flipped it, revealing my who future....

Shit I'm pregnant again!

I need to tell Bryce right away, there's no time for a cute announcement to him this time I just need to know his opinion. I went to the living room to see he had just finished his zoom call.

A: baby we have to talk right now
B: what's up honey

I pulled the test out of my hoodie pocket and showed it to him as tears fell from my eyes. He stared blankly at it not saying anything.

A: say something...anything please
B: you're- you're pregnant...again
A: yes now I can't tell if your happy or mad
B: I can't tell either
A: this is reality Bryce
B: I know, I know I'm just a little shocked right now
A: I understand but we need to make a decision
B: what do you mean a decision, there isn't one to be made?
A: yes there is... are we keeping this baby or not?
B: you mean your genuinely considering not keeping it?
A: no just are we ready for another kid yet?
B: no..no we are not but we will have to be, addison I understand it's your choice but I can't bring myself not to keep our baby
A: I understand Bryce, I just thought you wouldn't want another kid yet
B: honestly I don't but it doesn't mean I'm going to love it any less
A: so that's it then we are having another baby?
B: I guess we are
A: it went from being  Just The Two Of Us, to three and now we are going to be a four
B: we are indeed and the more I think about that the more happy I am
A: I love you Bryce
B: I love you more addison!!
