*After almost two years*

I've kept my promise all this time. Watch her, continued to love her, and protected her from afar. I even went to the lengths of blocking and suing those people who spread hate comments about her online.

It's her birthday today, and I was delighted to hear that we will be at the same year-end show. I was over the moon when I heard that our schedule was arranged to attend a year-end show where Twice will be attending too.

Last year's year-end shows didn't fall into the day of her birthday, so even if I wanted to approach her I couldn't. She said that it should be the day of her birthday, so I didn't approach her.

Although I sent her a birthday present, I feel like it wasn't enough. But I let myself be contented and waited patiently for the right time. And today is the day where she promised to meet me and say yes to whatever I will say to her.

"Hey, you left this... You should not just leave this little thing anywhere, I know this is important to you." V hyung said as he handed me a velvet box that I immediately accepted. "Thanks hyung, I was so nervous that I didn't notice that I did not have it with me." I responded as I placed the box in the pocket of my suit.

"Get your girl international playboy!" he teased as I just shook my head while smiling to myself. "Stop calling me that, I am not a playboy... Clearly, I am loyal..." was my response to him. It's almost the end of the year-end show, all there's left to do is to perform that song with all the idols who attended the year-end show.

We went to the waiting room for a small break and now we are on the way to the stage once again. I can't wait to meet her when this show is done. I know that their dating ban was already lifted but I still have to be mindful of paparazzi lurking.

I planned to meet her once the show ended. I talked to her groupmates in advance about the plan I had and they willingly agreed to help me surprise her. They know that we didn't break up, they also know that she requested space.

So they are more willing to help me bring her back to my arms and now is the right time. After that final song number and greeting our fans, we then slowly moved back towards our waiting areas.

I hurriedly went to ours and grab everything that I had prepared beforehand. It was hard to sneak these things inside so I couldn't do it myself. It was our manager and some of the staff who brought it in.

"Are you ready?" Jimin hyung asked as I nodded my head. "It's now or never hyung..." I responded. "We'll be cheering on you from here fighting!" Jin hyung excitedly cheered. "Well, I just hope you invite us for a celebration dinner..." Jhope hyung teased me.

"We wish you happiness..." Namjoon hyung said as he gently tapped my shoulder. "We'll be waiting for the good news, go now!" Yoongi hyung said while slightly pushing me out of the waiting room.

"You better make her say yes, or I will propose to my girlfriend first before you do... I won't mind getting engaged first." V hyung teased me. "No way I am the maknae, so I will get engaged first. Okay, I'll meet you guys later." I said as I went out of our waiting room.

I sighed deeply to take away the nervousness in me as I step towards the waiting room at the end of the hallway. I gently knocked on the door before a familiar face opened it up for me. "She's inside... We'll dive space for the two of you. Best of luck!"

Tzuyu said as she exited the room with the rest of the group except for Sana and Mina following her. I heard that Mina was on son hiatus, so she didn't get to join the group activities for the rest of the year, so the group continues as eight for quite some time now. They all gave me a fighting hand sign before they quickly runoff somewhere who knows where.

I carefully closed the door behind me and approached the girl whom I've been waiting for for almost two years now. She had her eyes closed and was like she was resting. So I silently took out the cake from the box and lit up the candle as I held it in both my hands.

"Happy birthday to you..." I said as soon as she opened her eyes before me. "You... What?" she said in a distorted speech and a surprised expression. "Surprised? I've kept my promise... So you better keep yours." I told her with a teasing smile.

"What promise?" she asked puzzled. "Remember, I said you have to say yes to whatever I am going to ask you on this day. But blow your candle first and make a wish..." I said as I pouted the direction of the cake in my hands.

When she blows the candle, I set aside the cake on an empty table near us. "Where are the others?" She asked while looking for her groupmates around. "Somewhere outside..." I responded to her.

"Time had passed, don't you think it's time to fulfill the promise we once made almost two years ago? I have kept my promise to you all this time." I started as I slowly took the box from my inner pocket.

"I know I was a jerk to ask you about a pretend relationship when we started. I know I was also stupid to only realize that I love you a little later. After what had happened way back then, I told myself that it's now or never..." I continued as I kneel before her while holding out the box in my hand.

Revealing a ring that I had spent time designing. It was a simple band adorned with small diamonds forming a star protected by wings. "Are you willing to spend the rest of your life me?" I asked her as I feel like my voice cracked out of nervousness.

"Why are you acting cute at times like this?" she asked me as tears started to fall from her eyes. She also hit me in the shoulder using her right hand while wiping the tear in her eyes using her left hand.

"Does that mean I was stupid too for asking space from you even we both know our feelings for each other? I'm sorry for being cold and actually treated you indifferently. I was selfish too..." she continued.

"So it is a yes or no?" I asked nervously. "Silly it's a yes..." she said as she pounced into me for a hug. "But you have to wait lover boy, we're both an idol." she whispered in my ears that made me chuckle.

In that waiting room while I was still kneeling on one knee with her hugging me tightly like she was afraid of letting me go. We made a promise of forever. One day I will stand in front of a hall waiting for her in her wedding dress till she finally says I do.
