Beomgyu and Taehyun were engaged. Not by choice. It was their parents' decision. They went to the same university. They took the same course and they shared a house. It had been only a month since they had started living together and their relationship wasn't ideal. Beomgyu had detested Taehyun and Taehyun had tolerated all his immature behaviours. But that was about to change. Beomgyu had changed.
Beomgyu looked around his room and found his phone. He turned it on and checked the date and time. It was Wednesday, which meant that Taehyun had classes that day. It was 4.30pm, which meant that Taehyun was still out and he would be back around 6pm. Beomgyu shut his eyes and tried to motivate himself by telling himself that he got this and he should start with small changes. Usually Taehyun would be the one to take care of all the housework, but today, Beomgyu had decided to do it all, from cleaning to cooking. He had plenty of time before Taehyun reached home. Beomgyu started with sweeping and mopping the floor. He then did the laundry. By 5.30pm, he was done and now he was in the kitchen, preparing dinner. He checked the time constantly. He was nervous yet excited to see Taehyun again. At 5.59pm, he decided to leave the kitchen and wait by the door so he could greet him. He rubbed his hands against his sides anxiously and waited for the door to click.

Taehyun opened the door and walked in. He sighed at the sight. Beomgyu had made a mess again on purpose and was sitting on the couch in the living room with a bowl of popcorns and dirty clothes spread across the floor. Beomgyu had been trying to get rid of Taehyun even though both of them knew that it would never work. Their parents would never let them break off the engagement and even though Taehyun hated Beomgyu with all his heart, he didn't want to be as petty as Beomgyu. He believed that the one with an open mind and to give in first is always the real winner. He didn't want to waste his time and energy to argue with Beomgyu. Thus, he tolerated him and did everything without a complaint.
Beomgyu completely ignored Taehyun and continued to munch on his popcorns while watching movies on the television screen. Taehyun clicked his tongue in annoyance but still picked up all the clothes on the floor. Beomgyu smirked to himself and purposely dropped a few of his popcorns.
"Clean that for me too."
Taehyun glared up at Beomgyu but picked up the broom and sweeped it away. He then proceeded to do the laundry and cleaning. He cooked dinner for both of them. He looked at Beomgyu's portion and his blood boiled. He hated Beomgyu to the core. Beomgyu was childish. He would do anything to bring Taehyun down. Taehyun wished he could just add poison into his food and commit murder. He had to calm himself down for that and remind himself that he should accept Beomgyu with an open mind. Hate wasn't a solution. Acceptance was. After setting the table, he called for Beomgyu. Beomgyu sat down and grimaced at his food. There was a very small slice of tomato that Taehyun had accidentally added in his.
"What is this atrocity?" Beomgyu questioned angrily and immaturely. He slammed the table with his hands and glared at Taehyun. Taehyun had enough. He grabbed his fork and pointed it to Beomgyu's neck.
"Fucking grow up you dipshit" Taehyun said through gritted teeth. "It's just a fucking small piece of tomato. You have hands right? Just fucking remove it."
Beomgyu grabbed Taehyun's wrist and stared right into his eyes. "Just admit it. You did this on purpose because I made you to clean shit."
"Well I'm glad at least you have guilty conscience." Taehyun rolled his eyes and broke free from his grasp.
Beomgyu ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "I'm not eating this gross shit." And with that, he left the dining room and headed straight up to his room.
Taehyun opened the door and walked in. He frowned at the sight. The floor was spotless clean. He then noticed Beomgyu standing by the side with his own apron on. His brows furrowed deeper.
"Sorry, it looks like I've entered the wrong house." Taehyun said with flat tone and backed out of the door. He was about the close the door when Beomgyu stopped him.
"It's the right one Taehyun."
"Then maybe I should get my eyes checked out. I will be back!" Taehyun tried to close the door again but Beomgyu's hand held it firmly.
"There's nothing wrong with your eyes. Just come in already." Beomgyu said with a hint of annoyance. Beomgyu was still short tempered and impatient like he was before. It was not something that could change so easily. Taehyun walked into the house warily and looked around. He acted like an intruder and felt unfamiliar in his own house. He could smell fresh laundry as he walked through the hallways to his bedroom. He trembled. What had happened to Beomgyu? Was this the Beomgyu he knew? He placed his bag in his room before heading to the kitchen. He could smell an aroma. It was curry. No way. No way did Beomgyu cook. Beomgyu never knew how to cooked. He was a spoiled young master who had been living in a mansion up until now.
"Are you Beomgyu's imposter?" Taehyun inquired, concerned, as he was being served with curry rice.
"No. I'm Choi Beomgyu, aged 20, studying biomedicine in Hybe University. 180cm and 61kg. Blood type AB." Beomgyu sighed.
"Okay but anyone can know that easily."
"Just no."
"What happened to you then? Are you trying to kill me? Is there poison in my curry?"
Beomgyu sighed once again and scooped up a spoonful of curry rice from Taehyun's portion before eating it.
"There, no poison."
"Right..." Taehyun watched him, still doubting him. The sudden change was too much. The Beomgyu he knew would do none of this and his cooking skills sucked ass. He still ate his curry rice regardless. He kept an eye on Beomgyu as he ate, his eyes filled with confusion and wariness. The curry rice was surprisingly well cooked. Now this made Taehyun even more suspicious of this new Beomgyu. Maybe he only knew how to cook curry rice. Maybe he would be back to normal the next day. Taehyun convinced himself. Beomgyu watched Taehyun eat quietly and didn't touch his own portion. He was just really happy to be able to see Taehyun again. He was elated. He had missed him so much. But he also worried that maybe this first change was a little too big and he must had weirded the heck out of Taehyun.
"Are you not going to eat?" Taehyun raised an eyebrow at him.
"Ah..." Beomgyu looked down at his own plate. He didn't have much of an appetite, he wasn't sure if it was because of his nervousness from this whole ordeal or because he was half dead. But since Taehyun asked, he would eat for him. He gobbled down his curry rice.
They sat in awkward silence in the living room after Beomgyu had done the dishes. Beomgyu glanced to his side, to Taehyun. He rubbed his hands against his thighs; a habit of his whenever he felt nervous.
"Taehyun... I've never said this before, but, welcome home."
[I missed you]
