It had been almost two months since the failed oyakodon. Taehyun tried to teach new dishes to Beomgyu every Saturday but somehow Beomgyu always managed to mess something up. Taehyun had absolutely no idea what went wrong and it irritated him. He concluded that Beomgyu was just not fit to cook and work in the kitchen. As for the rumours and gossips about Taehyun, they were being shut down within a few days. All it took was for Beomgyu to post on his social media stating that Taehyun was not his love interest. He also added that he, in fact, did not love anyone romantically and he only claimed so to get rid of the unwanted attention from his fans. He just wanted his privacy. Mixed reactions were the result of this. Some people felt bad for him and Taehyun. Some were mad that he lied. The others remained unconcerned and continued to pester and invade his privacy at the school campus. Beomgyu couldn't believe he had to actually lie about everything. But he had to do it for Taehyun. Their relationship was still the same. There was no progress. Taehyun still loathed Beomgyu and Beomgyu couldn't do much about it. Beomgyu never expected Taehyun to ease up anytime soon. He didn't deserve anything good from him anyways. He was contented with just seeing him.

Hueningkai had been coming over once a week recently to study together with Taehyun. Their end of term exams were a few weeks away and they had a lot to revise and cover. Whenever Hueningkai and Beomgyu were in the same space, the atmosphere would turn weird. Taehyun couldn't quite figure it out and explain it. There was just a lot of tension but also closeness mixed with worry and sympathy. They were mostly coming from Hueningkai. Both of them would greet each other like they were friends and sometimes Taehyun thought they were too close for his liking. He didn't want Hueningkai to interact with Beomgyu. Mainly because Beomgyu was a bastard and a demon in his eyes and he didn't want his pure angel friend to get corrupted or harmed by him. And partly because Hueningkai was his best friend and Beomgyu was still his fiancé. It was weird to see them close because they weren't supposed to. Hueningkai was supposed to dislike Beomgyu and stood by Taehyun's side at all times but now he was getting friendly with him.

Another thing Taehyun had found out besides the fact that Beomgyu was indeed horrible at cooking was that Beomgyu was smarter than he expected. He knew he was already smart, but he never knew to what extent until recently. He was able to confirm that Beomgyu did not bribe the professors for good grades. When Hueningkai and Taehyun were studying together, they came across a question that gave them a headache. Both of them had different approaches to the question but they just didn't seem right. That was when Beomgyu glanced over the paper while he was walking past and provided them with the solution. He even explained everything so clearly and easily to them. Being surprised was an understatement. It took Taehyun and Hueningkai almost an hour trying to solve it but it only took Beomgyu one single glance. Taehyun had thought that God was being unfair to them. Beomgyu literally had everything. The looks, the smarts, the money. Taehyun now knew how Beomgyu could find time to game. What Taehyun didn't know was that Beomgyu had spent hours of studying to be able to achieve something like that... Or at least before Beomgyu had reversed time. Beomgyu was born smart, yes, but he was extremely hard working too. He played hard and studied hard. When Taehyun wasn't watching, Beomgyu was studying. He would play hard during the day and game with his friends. He would study extra hard at night to make up the time he had spent playing. During weekends, he would study in the day and party at night. His life was pretty balanced, apart from the loss of sleep. He was able to achieve great feats for his academics thanks to his in born cleverness too. He didn't need to spend as much time as an average person to study. An average person might need to study eight hours a day to achieve similar grades as Beomgyu but all he needed was half the time, four hours. Maybe Taehyun was right, god was unfair. Since Beomgyu had an incredible memory, he only needed to skimp through his textbooks and lectures to renew his memories of what he had learnt before he returned back in time. He was a successful intern too so he didn't really need to study this time.
