Part 5: Kai

By now I have started Fairest, FINALLY!!!!! Please don't say anything that spoils it for me. Anyway, I own creativity, and Marissa Meyer owns original things of the Lunar Chronicles. Enjoy this part.

Out of everyone else, Kai had to get lucky with something. He has just had a great time with Cinder that now they're spooning on his bed. He is greatful for everything that has happened. Thanks to his kidnapping at his wedding that thankfully never happened, he didn't have to deal with a single lunar he disliked.

        To him, this is the best thing that has ever happened to him in his life. He loves that he gets to have fun for a change. Since he has became the Emperor of the Eastern Commonwealth, he had to grow up faster than a normal eightteen year old guy. He had to make the toughest decisions that he didn't quite agree with like arresting Cinder, having his military hunt down Cinder, and agree to Levana's marriage proposal.

        He never liked any of those decisions, but he had to make them for his people. Everything he has had to do was for his people. To try not to screw up a lot of things for his people's safety. His people probably didn't like his decision of agreeing to Levana's proposal at all. They rioted when she was at his palace, and most of them were killed by her wolf-hybrids when she had them attack the most well known cities of the world before he agree to marry her, for business. No wonder why his dad has always refused to this same agreement that she offered that Kai accepted.

        In Kai's defense, he is only eightteen and at the time he was still in the process of learning. Well like, he was almost done, but was still learning things he needed to know. He just tries and also is lucky to have had someone like Konn Torin, who was his father's adviser, to be his adviser when Kai took the crown and to help Kai with a lot of things since his father was hospitalized with letumosis.  Kai doesn't even want to remember how horrible it was to go through that.

        Speaking of Konn Torin, Kai hopes he is ok with running the Eastern Commonwealth while Kai is gone. Kai doesn't hear a lot of bad thing going on from the news feeds about the Commonwealth. He mostly hears about how it was a "tragedy" that Cinder kidnapped him on his wedding day and that the wedding will proceed when he returns. To him, Torin, and the majority of his people  could agree that him being kidnapped.

        He can't help but blame himself for all of the idiotic things he has done that either effected himself, his country, or both. He feels so stupid, that he hopes that Cinder doesn't make the same mistakes as him. He knows that he's gonna have to start teaching her all the things he has learned in his whole exists.

        He wakes up completely when the door opens. It was kinda creepy that he is almost completely naked, but thankfully he has a blanket over his private personal area. It was Wolf who opened the door and when it was open all the way, he said, "Oh my stars! I'm not gonna ask, but congratulations dude."

        Cinder woke up and was startled by the sight of Wolf that she sheaked and pulled the blanket closer to her chest. "Wolf? It's not what it looks like."

        Kai corrected, " Actually it is what it looks like, but hey. He didn't walk in while we were do it."

        "Still, its weird." She then turned to Wolf, "Is there something you want?"

        Wolf replied, "Yeah, Scarlet, but Thorne wants everyone to go to the cockpit as soon as possible. The ship is in the process of landing on Luna and he wants us to get ready to go get Scarlet and Winter back on the ship. So get dressed."

        He then left and Kai and Cinder got dressed as fast as they could and ran straight to the cockpit. When they got there, Thorne was following Cress' instructions on where they are landing. Next thing you know, they've landed far enough from the palace as they could. Then Darla says "You have reached your destination, Captain. Enjoy your trip."

        Thorne responded, "Yeah, I'm gonna enjoy this as much as everyone else, which means I'm not gonna enjoy this one way or the other way if there is one." Then he turned and said, "Oh, everyone is here, good.  Kai? Cinder? Did you enjoy your time? Because this is the part where we question if we will ever come back to this ship alive, dead, or at all if one of us gets captured while we're gone. Yeah people, we are about to be screwed if we don't have a plan or a clue or a sense of whatever the hell are we suppose to do. Is there any remarks in need to be known now, because now is a good time."

        "Would shut the stars up and let me explain things?" Cinder asked him and he remained quiet, "Thank you. Cress could you pull up the map of the palace? It might be helpful."

        Cress goes on the netscreen and pulls up the blueprints of the Luna palace. Cinder then began her explaining, "Ok, thanks. Cress, Thorne, and Kai are gonna go to the dungeons logically speaking that Scarlet will be down there. They gonna go there through these side doors. The one on the east side is gonna lead to the security officer and the dungeons. While you guys go do that, Wolf, Iko, and myself are gonna go to Winter's room to get Winter. Since we're all gonna do this when it's night time on Luna, Winter should be in her quarters which is also on the east side, but far enough from Levana that we don't have to deal with them. Any questions so far?"

        "Yeah, why am I going with you to get Winter instead of going to get Scarlet in the dungeons?" Wolf asked.

        "There will be more guard over towards Princess Winter's bedroom then toward those security areas. I don't really have a lot of darts so I'm gonna need a lot of muscles. Besides, you'll see her when we get on the ship again." Cinder trying to make things understandable. "Any other questions?"

        "Yeah, why are we separated?" Kai asked. He doesn't quite understand why they're being separated. It seems a bit odd that she would separate him from her.

        "I did that because I don't want Levana seeing you right away. It's selfish of me to do that, but do you really want do deal with her or me?"

        "I do prefer you so I understand, but I barely know Scarlet."

        "Hey, in case you forgot my exists, I barely know Scarlet too, but if you are as willing to save her ass as I am then shut up and do it." Cress implied. Kai looked at her like he is shocked she raised her voice like that. Then he looked at Thorne's reaction and all he is doing is smiling. Kai thinks Thorne likes it when I guess anyone stands up to Kai, especially like that.

        Cinder interupting the awkwardness, "Anyway, both groups should carry at least a gun with them. I prefer the tranquilize darts because it lets innocent lives they I'm gonna rule in the future live, but if you really hate lunars that work for Levana, then you have my premission to kill them if you can't knock them out long enough to get the job done. Other wise, that's the plan I got."

        "I'll admit that it's not completely stupid," Thorne acknowledged.

        "I just hope none of us gets caught," Kai remarked.

        "None of us will, just don't make to much noise. Reason why we're going in like an hour." Cinder implied.

        "I'm just gonna be happy when I see Scarlet again. It will be a relief if I could finally see her still alive." Wolf encouraged.

        Thorne added, "It would also be great to see you not moping around all the time."

        "That is so true." Wolf agreed with him.

        "Let's go be criminals and the heros at the same time." Iko said.

        "We are a bunch of misfits." Kai acknowledged. Then everyone gets up and goes to the cargo bay.
