I STARED AT THE WALL IN FRONT OF ME AFTER, WHAT FELT LIKE HOURS OF, CRYING. Sadness still seemed to grow within. I knew going to school without Andrew or Frank was going to be hard, but never did I think it was going to be this bad.

Eventually, I got too angry with my sadness. I stood up, not wanting to deal with it, and left the compartment.

The hallway of the train was filled with students, desperately wanting sweets from the trolley. As I walked, I couldn't help but notice the glances as I passed. I kept my head down, hoping that if I couldn't see the weird looks then they didn't exist. It was a foolish wish, but it kept me sane.

I passed multiple compartments. Often if the door was open and someone saw me, they'd get up and close the door. It hurt.

Finally, at the end of the train, I found an empty compartment. Well, empty meaning there was no one in it, however, there were things scattered across the room. Fancy clothes were shredded, half-burnt pictures tossed around, and paintings ripped down the middle. But one thing caught my eye. A familiar animal cage sat near the window.

Curious, I crept inside, tiptoeing around the things that were possessed on the floor. I kneeled and looked through the holes on the side of the cage. There, black fur poked out.

"Meow!" I knew exactly who that cat was. It was Rock. It had to be Rock. How could he have gotten here? Who took him? I stood up, pondering these questions.

SMACK!! The sudden noise of the compartment door made me jump. I turned around and came face to face with Pandora. Without even thinking, I ran to her, engulfing her in a hug. We held onto each other, forgetting about the amount of time we spent away from one another. When we pulled apart, Pandora placed her hands on my shoulders.

"Your hair! It's so short," She said.

"Do you like it?" I asked.

"Do I like it? Alice, it's gorgeous. Did your mum let you?" Pandora asked. I shuddered at the thought of Mum. "Are you alright?"

I forced my lips to smile. "Yeah, of course." My voice was everything but convincing. Pandora looked at me. Examining me, before she sighed.

"Sorry about the mess. Decided I couldn't wait until Hogwarts to destroy everything." Pandora bent down and began collecting the things that were scattered. I kneeled and helped her.

"It's alright. So, it's official then? You're not going back?" I asked.

"Yeah. I sold my owl to a first-year, just in case they decided to track me."

"Poor first-year," I mumbled, thinking about how her mum would treat the child if she met them.

"I told them to sell him once they got to Hogwarts. Once they do that, all they have to do is prove to me that they sold him. Then I'd pay for a new owl for them. It was quite a deal, if you ask me," Pandora chuckled.
