This continued for like nine weekends when suddenly she felt weirdness in the atmosphere. Her mother came after attending the phone with a sad face and she knew something wrong happened.
"Kimaya, I need to talk to you", her mother said as she frowned.
"Yes Mumma", she said looking at her worriedly.
"You will be 23 soon and you need to know the fact that girls get married once they reach their age", her mother said as she sighed knowing where this thing was going.
"Your mama already saw the guy's family. They want to see you. They send the proposal for you", her mother said as she looked down.
"You can do what you think is the best", Kimaya responded silently.
"You sure, baby?" Her mother asked as she nodded.
"They want to see you this weekend", her mother said more like asked as she nodded.
"I am fine with anything", she said knowing the situation at home was getting worse. She didn't want her mother to blame her later if something wrong happened.
She had already accepted her fate. What worse can go wrong?
She had seen the worst in her life already.
She worked really hard in the week at her workspace knowing well that she could lose her job also with this stupid marriage.
She was presented in front of the guy family and she felt this dirty feeling creeping into her body. She looked at the guy who was looking at her with lust.
They were meeting at her mama's place and everybody's eyes were on the guy only.
Her cousin brother's fisted his hands controlling himself from ripping him up.
She sighed holding her hands in a tight grip.
They wanted them to meet alone but she didn't want anything like that. She looked at her mother with moist eyes, not liking this dirty attention on her body. She was not a commodity at the end of the day.
Her mother made some weird things to not let them meet alone and they soon left.
Like this two or three proposals came for her but all were like each other.
Either the guy was behind money wanting a lot of dowries or was too lustful.
She was getting irritated. She was presented like some dish in front of those men.
Her mother asked her to stay at her mama's place for some days to stop her father from doubting her.
And one fine evening, it was drizzling. She was going to meet another guy but she was happy today. She knew she is going to reject him as well.
She enjoyed it with her cousins.
Her elder cousin sister helped her in getting ready in a beautiful dress with a little amount of makeup.
