The only mistake I did in my life was loving you...

---------------------------

She completed typing her assignment and gave it the last read before yawning. It took so long to complete a single assignment. She wanted to sleep so badly at this moment but her husband wasn't here till now. She was worried why he was this late today. She shut down her laptop before lying on the bed covering herself with the blanket. She looked at the ceiling waiting for him to come back from the office. Her eyes moved around the room to distract her. He looked so stressed these days. He would get irritated very easily and this fact was really troubling her. Was he really done with her? She wondered.

He would feel like anytime she would try to speak to him. He would react with a taunting reply which always made her feel humiliated. She considered that her brain was right on not trusting him. He didn't really deserve it.

Now that she thinks of her father's words. He always told her to never put her trust in any man who is not related to her by blood. Now that she never had a brother, the only person she could trust was her father.

She knew that her father was a rude and hard man to please but when he loved and cared for somebody, he could literally give his life for that person. She was, therefore, very fortunate to be his daughter and to be the one he loves the most though he never says this.

She smiled thinking about the time when he used to scold her when she cried because of the rude words of her classmates. He always told her to be affected by the words of only those people who have the same standards as them.

She was born in a family where blood and family were given the biggest priority and she herself is a person who believes that blood is thicker than water.

She knew she could be wrong but that was the upbringing she got.

Her father always asked her to never get married. He believed in the fact that nobody could treat his princess, the way he treated her. She never heard no for anything though she was asked to never cross the boundaries and fall in love with anybody and she followed the commands properly.

She smiled brightly thinking about her life before marriage.

"May I know who is this person who is making you smile so brightly", she heard which made her turn to the door only to find her husband standing there with anger clearly visible on his face.

She knew that she should stay silent at this moment. If she started arguing back it would lead to an ugly fight. She just shook her head at him before standing up from the bed taking the bag from him.

"Where were you today?", he asked her suddenly making her turn to him with a frown.

"I went to the mall", she spoke looking at him in confusion.

"Right?", he said in a mocking way which wasn't really ignored by her. She continued looking at him as he shook his head removing his tie then removing his watch. There was an angry look in his eyes.

"Do you want to say something?", she asked worried about his attitude.

"If I want to say something, I would say it. I don't need your permission", he growled making her jump at her place. She was taken aback by his attitude.

She just shook her head before walking to the bed picking up her books from his side putting them on her study table along with her pens.

She lied down on her side of the bed covering herself with the blanket looking the other side after putting an alarm in her phone putting it aside on the side table.
