"Let's go angel," David told me as he turned around, holding my hands and all of us leaving the cemetery. I took the last glance over my shoulder, watching my mother's tombstone. I'm already missing her so much, but I know she will never return to me now.
The black dress, which she bought specially for my birthday, was now being worn at her funeral.
We were back home but without momma, nothing seemed the same anymore. All the time I stared at my papa who had so much pain on his face but inwardly I was scoffing at his reaction. He promised to return but he didn't... he had a choice to not leave us yet he did and because of his decisions, I lost my momma. I hate him. I hate this man.
"Young miss, what can I get for you to eat?" The head maid, zietta Anastasia asked me and I didn't reply to her. I have no appetite. My momma would be asking me the same question if she was alive but now, she'll not ask me the question and no one will care anymore.
"Principessa, zietta is asking something. You should reply to her," David cooed but I shook my head and leaving his grip on my hand, I rushed upstairs to my room.
Rushing inside, I locked the gates and diving into the bed, covered my head with the warm blanket that had the same smell as my mother. It was so warm and soft, I was feeling nice and my drowsy eyes dropped and I fell asleep.
The time I woke up, I heard loud voices shouting. It was resonating in a high pitch tone and I immediately recognized it as David's but the latter was not to my knowledge. Wrapping the blanket around myself, I stepped down from the bed and walked out of the room towards David's room.
He was not alone and that much I gathered with other voices. As I opened the doors of his room, I found three young boys just like David. Either they were of his same age or younger than him by year or two. But among those strange faces, I spotted the bad boy... what was his name? Yep... Ethan.
Walking further inside and balancing my steps so I won't fall because of the blanket, I walked towards David and looked at him. His eyes were red and tears were coming out... he was crying.
"Upsie..." I told him and in no time, he pulled me up from the floor and had me sit over his lap as I snuggled close to his chest.
"David... it is okay. If you will be too sad then, momma will not like it. You are a good boy." I told him, looking at his sad face and then he held me more tightly to his chest, now crying with voices. His whole body was moving as he did.
"David, you shouldn't cry. Look at your sister man, she is the bravest of all. Having been through all of that alone in that room, she is still not crying. Please be a man for your sister," The boy with chestnut hair and light brown eyes told him. He was a decent-looking boy in my perspective.
"Why? Why David cannot cry? Do men don't feel pain?" I found myself asking this question to the boy who told my brother to be a man and don't cry. Why do they all have so many rights and wrongs for everyone?
