"Just don't tell anyone it was me who rescued you guys, at least not the boys, please." My beautiful Angel, who's always elated to mark the flag of her achievement today after such a big and risky mission, is backing out from taking the credit.
"What happened Sapphire? You don't seem too happy to me," she shook her head when Dorothy asked her as when the nurse ran the final check over her body to ensure no injury. We came to Italy yesterday and in secret is being treated by the doctors before making our grand entrance in front of all. As a proud father of my innocent and sweet angel, I so want to flaunt her achievements but right now she sounds so dull that it breaks my heart.
"Angel, there is something you're hiding from your Dad, right?" I asked now sitting up with help of a ward boy who then excused himself while with plaster on his left arm, Ronaldo walked in. His left eyes were bruised and I was injured by my torso and head but more than both of us, Luca was more injured. He had a very critical surgery on his abdomen in Britain before we brought him here. Right now resting in ICU, with sedatives to numb his pain, he seemed to be responsive to drugs and was healing.
I was happy to know that Sapphire burnt half of their lands of income and shops to repay the debt for causing all of us harm. She is after all blood of a Campbell and to say the least she proves herself more worthy than her brother in so many ways and times. Yet, I was in shock a little to know that my Angel wasn't told about our abduction and she has to get information through other ways. I know Ethan is a very capable leader but sapphire overpowers him and many. She is just brilliant and talented but with her mother's death, she nurtured before age.
"Principessa, don't hide something from us, and even if we're injured now there is no way we're letting you go through any sort of pain," Ronaldo said standing beside her and side hugging her by the shoulder. At his loving gesture, Angel wasn't able to control and burst into series of hiccups and tears which shook Ronaldo and me to the core.
One lone tear from her eyes and there are several deaths and people destined for demise.
"Angel just tell the name and I'm fucking burying the person 64km down in the earth," I yelled neglecting the now erupting pain but she didn't answer instead dropped to her knees covering her face with her hands, and cried loudly. Her shoulder was shuddering with her painful tears streaming down.
There is just nothing in this world which I cannot be resilient against but just not her tears. I cannot turn a blind eye to it. It kills me to see my daughter in any pain.
"I don't want it anymore. Please, call it off. I cannot stay put with it anymore," she cried her words in a painful voice and a worried expression shared between Ronaldo and me, I hurriedly stepped down from the bed limping on my feet and crouched in front of her hugging her in my embrace while Ronaldo too sat beside her, hugging her by her shoulders. All this time Dorothy silently watched us comforting our baby girl.
"What you don't want Angel? Just tell us, we will free you from it." Ronaldo said assertively and I nodded to his words. "You only have to wish my Angel, we will work it for you." I cooed in her hair kissing her as she buried her face in my crook, her tears falling down my bare skin and soaking up in the gauze.
