"Sapphire, hide beneath the bed!!" Ethan barked orders as the door was opening and in the moment of flight, I rushed to the bed and slipped inside, hiding under it. Ethan came walking and sat over the bed while I hid my face in my hands and prayed that none suspect or search in here.
"Who were you speaking to so loudly?" A guard yelled at Ethan and he gritted his teeth, fired up now. "Whoever I talk to, that's got nothing with you guy?" He barked angrily at the guards who seemed infuriated as I heard them stomping their feet. "I suspect you have gone mad, criminal." Another guard said and tried to backhand Ethan when he grabbed his hand mid-way and jerked him backward furiously. "Low life you dare think that you can even touch me, that's some new joke in here." Ethan spat making a mockery of them. I wanted to smack his head upside down but he seemed to be in no condition to get that.
Ethan has officially gone mad and I second those guards.
"Scurry away before, you infuriate me anymore. I may be inside but stronzi don't forget your family and my men, both are out and in fear. My men fearing they would disrespect me in any way while I'm inside and your family terrified how your deeds can backfire on them. Choose," he smirked devilishly and this time the hair at the back of neck stood up with horripilation. I never thought that I will hear Ethan saying that someday. he never touches innocent.
What has really happened? How come my Ethan became this kind of ruthless and cruel?
The guards sealed their lips when they looked at Ethan. He must be smiling at them with evil shining in his eyes for them to just sneer at him and leave. I gulped hard thinking how will he treat me now when he has the time of all the world in his hand.
They left locking the doors and checking if it was locked. A smart move that I got a spare in hand. Once they finally were out of hearing range, I slipped out but in the whole process Ethan standing stared at me ruefully, and not for once would he come and help me out. I was angry he treated me and the one time he did do like this, I knew how much it hurts. Then Vladimir's words crossed my mind. He is making a dangerous file of crime and criminals.
When I rose to my feet, losing my balance, I stumbled and fell. Grazing my elbow to bleed. Hissing in pain, my eyes traveled up to see Ethan but he stood unfazed with an irritated raise of his eyebrow.
"Sometimes, I'm scared Dad. Papa. What if Ethan would change someday, then what will I do?" It was just a question that I felt like asking my family. These two men are my shield and in no way would I be harmed if they're there. "That's an absurd question, Sapphire. You know it better than us, Ethan is smitten about you. He can kill for you and die himself if needed. I hate to admit but he even makes me jealous of my love towards you." I laughed when papa said that.
"Don't you worry, Sapphire? That day will not come." Dad said stroking my hair and smiling. But in that time I was left unanswered yet I knew, they will be there if the day ever comes.
