Chapter 3: An Uchiha

The next day, I was at the training grounds with all the other victims of the attack. I was seating on the floor with a blanket wrapped around me. "Izu, I brought you food," Ibiki said standing over me.

"Where is my father?" I asked with a dried voice.

"He has been taken," he said seating next to me. "I got a hold of your aunt Hae, she will ask Fugaku if she can take you in." I looked at him disappointed, my father wouldn't have wanted me to end up with the Uchiha. He immediately noticed this and placed his arm on my shoulder. "Kid, you know I love you like if you were my own child," he sighed. "But I cannot keep you, and I will not let you wander on your own when you have a family that will take care of you. I will watch over you, I promise, I owed your dad that,"he sat there for a while until aunt Hae and Shisui walked over to us.

"He agreed," she told him, and he sighed in relief. Then, she knelt in front of me, "Izumi, I'm here to take you with us, you will be living with us from now on," I just looked at her and nodded.

"Hae," Ibiki said looking at her. "Izu will graduate from the academy early and I will oversee her training personally. She will be working as a Genin under my supervision."

She looked at me and smile, "that's fine with me, now Izumi, let's take you home".

"See you soon, Izu," Ibiki said with a smile and I nodded.

We walked through the doors of the Uchiha district and immediately I could sense a lot of eyes on me. I could hear people whispered and murmured behind me. I could see why my mother never returned here, I thought. They knew exactly who I was and why I was here, it bothered me.

Three weeks later we started the academy again. It was partially destroyed during the nine tails attack and it had to be rebuilt. I got ready and walked down the stairs where Shisui and Aunt Hae were waiting for me, "breakfast is ready?" Shisui said.

"I got your lunch ready Izumi," aunt Hae said handing me a small bag. "Listen, I will walk you today, but Shisui will be the one taking you and picking you and Itachi up everyday after school," she said and I nodded.

"Itachi and I train every day after school, if you want, you could come too," Shisui said with a smile.

"Sure," I whispered.

As we walked to the academy, I heard someone call my name, "Izumi wait." Aunt Hae and I turned to see Itachi running towards me, his mother was behind him with his baby brother. "You want to meet my baby brother?" he asked in excitement as he grabbed both of my hands. I nodded and walked behind him to meet the small child wrapped in a blue blanket, "his name is Sasuke" he said proudly.

"He is beautiful, congratulations Mikoto," aunt Hae said, "and you too Itachi."

I stood on my toes as I saw the small child sleeping, he had midnight black hair and long lashes. His cheeks were full and round and there was a hint of red in them. I saw him and I wondered if my baby bother would have been this cute. "What do you think?" Itachi asked.

"He is cute, congratulations," I said as turned to walk towards the academy. Itachi caught up to me and he pulled my hand making me stop.

"Izumi, if you want, he can be your brother too," he said looking at me with a warm smile. "We can take care of him together and teach him how to be a great shinobi."

"Really?" I asked wondering why he would want to share his brother with me. He looked at me with a bright smile and pulled me back towards his mom and brother.

"Mom, Izumi can be Sasuke's big sister too, right?" he asked his mother.

"Of course, Sasuke will be very lucky to have not only a big brother but a big sister as well," she looked at me and smiled.

I looked at the small child wrapped in the blanket and smiled. "Thank you," I said as I looked at Itachi, "I promise I will help you protect Sasuke, always."

Itachi, Shisui and I practice everyday after school. Like my father, they taught me all the basics about Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and Ninjutsu. We spend a lot of time together and I started to become skilled at everything. Itachi and I watched Sasuke together when he brought him to the park without his father knowing. Itachi's father didn't like me much. I knew the only reason why he let me back in the Uchiha district was because of my aunt Hae and Ibiki.

Shisui started teaching me his body flickery technique. It wasn't such a hard concept but for some reason I could move fast enough. We worked on it every day before school, he was such a patience teacher. I just felt that I didn't have enough chakra to perform the transportation jutsu as he did.

"You are over thinking it," he said laughing at me. "You have to think of the spot you have to go and focus just on that." I frown because that was exactly what I was trying to do but I couldn't focus. "Izu, it would be easier with the Sharingan, why don't you use it?" I looked at him a little confused, "I was there when you first activated it, remember."

"I don't know how to that," I told him, "that time it just appeared and... it hurt," he smiled.

"Come, sit here, let me explain how you can activate it and deactivate it. It wont hurt anymore," he said patting the empty spot next to him. I sat next to him and he explained how the Sharingan worked. The different versions of it and what it takes to activate it. He showed me how his looked and I was amazed to see it from up close. "Now you try," he said looking directly into my eyes. "Close your eyes, and focus all your chakra behind your eyes. It will feel really warm and when it does, that means your Sharingan is activated, then open your eyes."

I did as he said, and I felt the warm almost burning sensation behind my eyes. I opened them and everything around me suddenly seemed clearer. I saw the expression on his face, and he was excited and somewhat shocked. "Izumi, your Sharingan," he said getting up and running inside the house. "Wait here, let me show you something." He came back with a mirror and showed me what my eyes looked like. They were red, just like his, with the triple Tomoe. "You already have a full Sharingan, well after all you have been through, I guess I shouldn't be surprise." He smiled, "you will definitely be able to master the flickery technique," he said confident.

I tried it one more time before getting ready for school, but this time I used the Sharingan. I focused on the point I wanted to go, and I took a deep breath before bolting there. "Izu, you did it," he shouted from far away. I looked at how far I went, and I couldn't believe it. "Do it again but this time come back here," he shouted and I nodded. I did the exact same thing, took a deep breath and focus my chakra to that position next to him and bolted there. I immediately lost my balance and he caught me before I could hit the ground. "You have to work more on chakra control," he said as he helped me sit down. "This technique consumes a lot of chakra. Once you master that, I will teach you how to add clones to it," he said with a smile on his face. 

"Why are you so nice to me?" I looked away not really waiting for a response.

"Izumi we are family, your are my cousin," he sighed. "More than that, you are like a little sister to me." A smile suddenly grew on my face, I have never had any family other than my mother or father. Ibiki was always there too, but having someone like Shisui made me happy. 

"Thank you," I looked at him and gave him a hug.
