Chapter 7: Last Words

A year and few months passed and Itachi and I were still hanging out and training together behind his father's back. I would get so happy every time he would bring Sasuke along. Sasuke was growing so fast, he wanted to do everything Itachi and I did. Their relationship was adorable, I wandered if my little brother would have loved me that way Sasuke loves Itachi. I couldn't help to feel down everything time I remembered my family.

"What is wrong Izu?" Sasuke asked looking at me with a concerned face.

"It's nothing Sasuke, you are growing so fast," I smiled at him.

"Yeah, soon I'll be strong as big brother," he said excited.

"Yeah and as handsome too," I said and I could see a smile on Itachi's face as he collected his kunai in front of us.

"Eww, Izu, you like my brother?" Sasuke made a grossed out face.

I couldn't help but laughed at him, "I think he is the one who likes me," I told him.

"Well, now it all makes sense, that is why he is always talking about you." Sasuke said and I saw Itachi looked up and his cheeks had a slightly hint of red on them. At that same moment a crow came towards Itachi and his face expression immediately changed.

"Izu, can you watch Sasuke for a few minutes?" Itachi asked me, "there is something I've got to do."

"Sure," I looked at him concerned, "is everything good?" I asked him.

"Yeah, there is nothing to worry about, everything is fine," he said, before disappearing in between the trees. I immediately knew he was lying. I knew Itachi well to know that something was going on. Since he joined the AMBU he started to act different and I knew that there was something bothering him.

"Izu, let's train," Sasuke snapped me out my thoughts. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the targets. "Teach me something new, please," he said with the most adorable look on his face.

"Sure," I said putting my hands inside the pouches on my thighs. "Shuriken or kunai?" I asked and I could see his eyes widened.

"Shuriken!" he shouted in excitement. I taught Sasuke the basics of target practice with a shuriken. He was a fast learner and immediately started to shoot closer to the bullseye. More than an hour passed and Itachi was still gone, what is he doing? I wondered. "Am I doing good?" Sasuke asked with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, you are actually doing great," I told him as I ruffled his hair, "now Sasuke let's collect all the shuriken before it's too late."

"But brother is till gone," he said looking at the trees where Itachi had gone.

"I know, don't worry, I'll walk you home," I smiled at him.

"That is not necessary," Itachi said from behind us, "thank you, though."

"Hey Izu!" Shisui said walking behind Itachi.

"Shisui, you are back!" I said excited. He was supposed to be on a three-week mission and I was sad because I was most likely going to spend my birthday alone.

"Yeah, we got to hurry Itachi," Shisui said looking at Itachi then back at me, "there is a meeting in shrine again tonight, sorry Izu, we really have to be there."

"No worries," I knew Itachi and Shisui hated going over to those meetings and since I wasn't full blooded Uchiha I wasn't allowed to attend.

"Go home Izu, it's getting late," Shisui told me before walking towards the shrine.

"Right, well, have fun at your elite Uchiha meeting," I said and knelt down to give Sasuke a hug. "You remember what I taught you today, okay. See you around Sasuke," I poked his forehead with my fingers before standing up
