"Itachi.... why?" I asked, my voice breaking and tears running down my checks. I slowly put my hands over his, in the handle of his sword...."You..." he finally said in a cold voice, "y-you are not Uchiha enough to die."....I could swear I heard him muttered something... "I'm sorry" were his last words.

I woke up from the nightmare, sweat running down my neck. I stared at the ceiling of a familiar room. I was in the hospital back in the Leaf. I gasped as I remembered about our attack and gripped the bed sheets hard.

"How are you feeling Yami?" the Hokage asked from the other side of the room.

I flinched at the sound of his voice. I took me a few minutes to adapt and find my voice. "Jiro, Kaito, are they..." I couldn't even finish the question. I was too ashamed that I didn't do anything to help them.

"They are all dead, you are the sole survivor," he said in a calm voice. I could feel the tears form in my eyes, but I quickly wiped them off before turning back to him. "You are back home, Yami, rest for now but later on you will have to tell us everything that happened," he said.

I nodded and replayed everything that happened that day in my head. What was that man after? I wondered. After a few hours, the Hokage, Ibiki, and a man named Inoichi came and he searched my memories of the attack. I didn't have to say a thing. "You killed her," Inoichi muttered in a cold tone, "those damm rules," he continued. It was after the man left that the Hokage told me Yunki was that his sister. I saw the anger in his eyes when he saw the memory of me killing her.

"Yami, it had to be done. Yunki was a Black Leaf herself and she knew the rules." he said trying to comfort me but his words only made me feel worse.

The next day, I was finally able to get out of bed. "You will be discharged tomorrow morning." The nurse said as she changed the bandages of my wounds.

"Thank you," I replied in a low voice.

"There are a few things that you need to know, before you go." She became hesitant, "due to the extensive of your injuries. We had to do removed parts of one of your organ. You might or might not get a menstrual cycle. In another words, is very unlikely. I could say almost impossible, for you to have children in the future."

"That won't be a problem," I whispered and she just nodded before walking away.

The next day I was released and I took a deep breath as I walked out of the hospital. The village had change, I thought, as I felt a breeze blowing on my face. Everything seemed and felt so peaceful. The first thing I wanted to do was to go look for Sasuke and give him a hug. But I had to go get the keys of my new place first. I was getting a new apartment in the jonin building. Then, I had to go see the Hokage and meet my new ANBU team.

As I walked through the village, I couldn't help but notice a boy sitting by the river. It was him.... Sasuke. My heart felt an immense relief to see him well, but then I felt pain to see him there all alone staring at the sunset. I walked towards him and sat by his side. He looked at me confused and somewhat annoyed at first, like if he didn't want any company.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" I asked him, staring at the sunset. I turned to face him, and I saw a smile slowly growing on his face.

"You're back," he said looking serious trying to keep his emotions from showing. "You also stopped writing... so I figure you died or something."

"What? You have not faith on your sister?" I chuckled and threw my arms around him. "I'm sorry I stopped writing.... It was somewhat necessary. But I'm here now, and I am not planning on going anywhere," I pulled away and saw him smile.

We talked about everything that happened in the last two years. He told me all about school and how he was training hard every day to be on top of his class. He was 9 years old but was more mature than many adults. He wasn't the sweet child that I once knew. He was cold and you could hear the anger in his voice as he talked about becoming strong to fulfill his dream... killing his brother... killing Itachi.

We walked back together, as we passed the park, two girls come up to us. The girl with a pink hair and green eyes talked first, "hello Sasuke, do you want to join us?"

Then the blond one "we are going to play on the swings," she said shyly.

"I'm busy," Sasuke said in a harsh tone. "Let's go," he turned to face me.

The girls look at each other disappointed. "That was harsh," I said as we walked away.

"They are annoying," he said making sure they heard him.

"If you keep acting like an ass you will never find a girlfriend," I told him as a I ruffle his hair.

Once we got to the Jonin building, I turned around to look at him. "I missed you a lot, you know," I said pulling him into a tight hug. "All I wanted was to get out of that place and come back here, to see you." I pulled away to looked at him when I realized he didn't hug me back.

I smiled when I saw the smile on his face. "I missed you to Izu," he admitted.

"I'll see you around, Sasuke," he nodded and walked away.

Once in the building I was shown to my apartment. A one bedroom and one-bathroom small apartment in the top floor. I was lucky enough to have a balcony and there were only two others living in this floor. "This floor is new and most of the apartments are still empty here, 16D and 17D are occupied," Lady Thea, the caretaker of the building, said.

Great, six apartments and I have a next-door neighbor, I thought. Lady Thea gave me an envelope with money. "The Hokage left this for you here," she said. "For groceries, clothes and other things you might need. He also said to be his office by 7 pm," she said before leaving.

I looked the clock next to the bed, 6:35, great I need to hurry. I scanned trough the apartment before leaving and I noticed everything I needed was there. There were also a few boxes on the table. I started to go through them and saw that they were my personal belonging that I had left at my older apartment. A note was taped to one of the boxes,

I figured you might want this back,

Ibiki

A huge smiled appeared on my face when I found my mother's family picture book and many other precious memories inside the boxes.
