Chapter 55

Letting Jeonghan go is so hard for Seungcheol. But if it's his decision, he respects it. He knows, Jeonghan has a deeper reason why he did that, and he's afraid to know what it is.

Seungcheol started to tear up once again as he walks away from Jeonghan too, "H-Hey.." Yeoreum was just about to comfort him, but Seungcheol turned his back, and he ran after Jeonghan.

He runs so fast that Yeoreum couldn't catch up. Seungcheol doesn't want to end it! He ran and ran, but, it was too late. Jeonghan already got into Eunwoo's car. Sowon, Eunwoo and Jeonghan left the place.

"Jeonghan!" Seungcheol shouts as loud as he could. "JEONGHAN!" He ran after the car, but he just can't. He kneels down the road side.

Yeoreum ran after Seungcheol and she spotted him, kneeling on the ground. Crying and screaming.

"J-Jeonghan.." he mumbles, and Yeoreum stayed beside him. "Seungcheol.." She called him out. She suddenly felt an ache watching Seungcheol in that state, so she decided not to say or even do anything, and just be there for him.

Then there, she realized, that she may be the first person that Seungcheol had laid his eyes on, but that means nothing once Seungcheol's eyes landed on Jeonghan.

Because those eyes were filled with happiness and love.

The party has ended after Seungcheol's exit on running after Jeonghan. The Yoon family made their exit too.

"Dad, is that true?!" Sanha confronted his father right after they came in the house. Sanhyuk didn't respond. "Dad answer me!"

"Yes it's true!" Sanhyuk shouted. Sanha was speechless. He couldn't believe it! Jeongbin too. "Everything that Jeonghan said was true.." he admitted and sat down on the couch.

"B-But why..?" Sanha asked, but Sanhyuk couldn't tell him the reason. "Dad tell me why!" Sanha shouted in anger. He's so disappointed. He couldn't believe that the man he looked up to was a murderer.

"You should rest now, Sanha. Take your mom upstairs-"

"Tell me why first, Dad!" Sanha cuts him off. "How could you do such a thing-"

"If I can only tell you the truth, I already did!" Sanhyuk cuts him off this time with tears on his eyes. "B-But I can't.."

"But why not?!"

"You can't, and will never understand, Sanha. Now, just go upstairs and take your mom with you-"

"No! Not until you tell me why!" Sanha insisted. He wanted answers now. He can't sink anything in. "Why did you do that and how could you do things like that! Imagine, Seungcheol lost his mom!" Sanha shouted.

"I really can't tell you.." Sanhyuk said and Sanha looks so disappointed. Sanha just walked out since he knew, his father won't tell him the whole truth.

Jeongbin looks at him with anger. His wife looks so disappointed.

After that night, the Yoon family was never the same. Sanha and Jeongbin distant themselves from Sanhyuk. Jeongbin even moved to a different room so she can literally distance herself from Sanhyuk. Their family was never the same again.

"Take me home," Seungcheol shortly said to Mingyu and they were all puzzled.

"W-Where?" Mingyu asked again and Seungcheol looked at him blankly. Guests already went home.

"To the condo," Seungcheol replied shortly again and was about to go upstairs when Cheolhan stopped him. "You're going back to that place?"

"Any problem?" Seungcheol turned his back on Cheolhan.
