PROLOGUE !
he was the embodiment of grey.
not a little flame caused by the friction of a matchstick rubbing against a surface, nor a fire that heats and endangers your body; he was the aftermath -- the smoke that covers the area and makes it hard to breathe, hard to see.
he is like a thick cloud of smoke; right in front of your eyes but impossible to grasp.
she was the embodiment of red.
a burning fire that ruthlessly spreads and widens with wind stroking the flames. getting too close can burn you, getting too close can leave you scarred.
she knows that she can vary between being a small flame and a blazing wildfire.
so, when her boyfriend of three years unreasonably dumped her to go around and be with another girl instantly; the flame of rage was heating up inside of her.
she wanted to act back, she wanted to mess with him the same way he was messing with her. she wanted to flicker something inside of him; something that made him upset and maybe even regret for ever letting her go.
and who was a better option to use other than the guy he hates the most?
mike wheeler; there was probably no one else who had this many rumors going around about themself - from being a criminal with weird fetishes to being a sex god in bed.
even with the crazy rumors going around about him, there were people who were subtly drawn to the dark aura that clung to the boy -- yet, no one said that out loud. he was a good mystery and a secret turn on; but no one dared to come close to him in public.
he was perfect for it. he would trigger the reaction she wanted want to cause.
what she didn't know when asking him to be her pretend boyfriend though, was that this had two ways it could go.
either they create a warm flame with the scent of wood on a bonfire.. or they create a forest fire with thick clouds of smoke that cause a catastrophe.
