Act 49 | Faith

Nightime, at Butterfly Estate

Eren sat on his bed with a lot of things in his minds. Most of it is what Hakuji or Akaza told him earlier at the restaurant. He keep thinking of how they are gonna fight tomorrow. But he can't figure out anything as his minds were a mess.

"Haih.. Let's step outside a bit." he sighed and stood up from his bed. He walked out the room and stroll around.

It's late night so most of the staff there are resting. Eren went to a room where Mikasa resting at. He sticked out his head into the room and saw Mikasa is sleeping soundly. Seeing her like that makes Eren felt relieved. He sighed and walked away from the room.

After a few minutes walking, he finally at the garden. "This place is insanely big." he said.

Then, a figure caught his eyes. He stared at the figure entered a room. Eren quickly walk to the room to see if it's a bad guy.

"Is she sleeping?" Eren heard a familiar voice from the room. It's Tanjiro's voice. Eren look up and see a sign said 'Kanao's room'.

'Oh! It's the couples.' he thought and chuckled. "I wonder when Mikasa and I will be like that." he muttered and about to walk away until he heard what Tanjiro said.

"Do you think this is the right thing to do, Kanao?" Tanjiro said. Eren with curiousness, glued to the wall to hear their conversation.

Tanjiro sat on a chair, facing the bed where his daughter and wife are laying at. Kanao stared at the husband's face and smiled. "Do you doubt it, anata?"

"I don't know." Tanjiro said while his eyes looking down to the floor.

Seeing her husband like that, Kanao get off the bed and hold Tanjiro's head with both of his hand. "What are you worry about?" she asked as she look him in the eyes.

"I'm worried that we will lose and they will destroy all the towns." Tanjiro said as tears are dripping down to his cheeks and Kanao's hand.

"I'm scared. Losing all the things I love. Tge people I love. Losing you and Hana. I'm scared." He finally bursted crying.

Eren at outside also dropped down to the floor. He also afraid all the things Tanjiro said will also happen to him.

"Eren?" Mikasa called his name. He turned his face to her and smiled. He stand up and walk to the girl.

"Let's walk a bit." he said and they both walk around together.

For walking a round the estate, Mikasa keep staring at Eren makes him felt a bit uncomfortable. "Uhh.. Mikasa?" he called her name while looking away.

"You seem to have a lot of things in your head, Eren. If you don't mind, wanna share it with me?" Mikasa said as Eren stopped walking and stared at her face.

Then, they walked back to the room where Mikasa's stayed at. They both sat down on the bed, waiting for Eren to open up his story.

"Can we really do this?" he finally said it.

Mikasa look at him with a confused look. "Can we really change this country for real?" he asked and look at Mikasa. "What if we fail? What will happen to you?" he started to ask a lot of questions makes Mikasa more confused.

"Wait, wait, wait! Too many!" she stopped him.

Mikasa look at him in the eyes. "I don't what do you mean actually, but whatever it is, remember all the things you have gone through to reach at this point. Remember all the thing you did, all the people who stand by your side, all the people who never tired to cheer you, all the people who have taught you, all the people who look up to you....." she said and she kissed Eren.

She pulled back and smiled brightly.

"...and the people who loved you." she ended her speech.

Eren smiled and stand up. "You're right. People has put their hopes on me. Armin does. Midoriya does. Asta does. Kamado does. There's no way I'm gonna lose." he said to fire up his heart back to it's spirit.

He look at Mikasa and kissed her passionately.

He pulled back and held her hands. "Thank you, Mikasa." he said makes Mikasa blushed.

"Then, if you are really thankful, wanna do it?" she suddenly said makes Eren blushed. He let go of her hands and laughed awkwardly.

"Haha! I have to go to the bathroom and I will head straight to my room. Goodnight, Mikasa!" he said and run away.

Mikasa clenched her fist. "You jerk!"

At Kanao's room

Kanao buried Tanjiro's face to her chest and patted his head while he was drowning in between her's.

"Don't think of losing. Think of winning. That way, you will never feel lose again." she said and pulled away Tanjiro head.

She look at him with serious eyes. "Isn't that what you always said?" she asked.

Hearing that makes Tanjiro quiet. He never knew that something he always said to people will hit him back.

"Back then, you don't have enough help. But now, you have Eren, someone who's on par with you. There's no way you will lose. I believe in you. Hana believe in you. Everyone believe in you. And father also believe in you, right? So there's no way you gonna let them down." Kanao said snapped Tanjiro back to reality.

He look at Kanao and smiled. "Thank you, Kanao." he said.

Kanao smiled and look at him while her hand on her waist. "So, wanna sleep together?" she asked makes Tanjiro blushed.

He laughed and stand up. "Well, it's been a while. But I want to go out a bit. Sleep first, don't wait for me." Tanjiro said and walked out the room. He walked through the hallway and arrived at the entrance. There, he saw a figure waiting for him.

"What took you so long?" Eren asked while leaning at the door with his hand folded.

Tanjiro smiled. "Sorry, I want to take a look at Hana." he said as he put on his slippers and went to Eren.

"Let's go." he invited and they both went out the estate.

Tonight, they have a meeting to discuss about tomorrow's fight. They are on their way to the mountains where the Hashira's warehouse is.

"It's quite afar, eh?" Eren said makes Tanjiro laughing.

"Well, people don't always come to the mountains so we placed the base there. We can get there faster if we parkour all the way, but I wanna take some times to talk." Tanjiro said. Eren stared at the red hair guy passionately. "Tell me some story about you, Tanjiro."

Tanjiro chuckled hearing what Eren said. "You have heard it from Tomioka-san, right? There's no need for me to tell you." he said but Eren still pressured Tanjiro to tell it by his own mouth.

"Well, as you know, Kimetsu forbid people from outside to come in. It's the condition from the treat I made with Twin Devils a year ago." Tanjiro told him.

"But why?" Eren asked.

Tanjiro look at Eren and smirked. "It's to protect Hana."
