I'm sorry it's like 3am I wrote this in one sitting

Daniel hobbled into the lab. He knew he looked terrible. He didn't care. He walked over to the board Peggy and Jason were working on before the mission last night. His hands still had a faint outline of Peggy's blood on them. His chest tightened as the memories of the night before flooded his senses. Peggy's limp body clinging to his arm as he desperately tried to keep the blood inside her. The disappointment on Violet's face as she dug up Daniel's biggest secret, his biggest shame. He remembered her walking away, still shaking her head.

He didn't realize the tears flooding his cheeks until he let out a sob. He shuffled over to the wall, leaning on it for support as his feelings crashed down on him like a pile of boulders. He sank to the floor, pushing his crutch to the ground. He heard it crash on the floor. He didn't look up. He hid his face in his hands.

He didn't know what to do. He was alone. He loved Peggy. He loved her more than life itself. His throat tightened as his tears tore down his face like an avalanche of bitterness. His shoulders shook as his cries echoed through the room. He wanted nothing more than Peggy.

Peggy. Peggy. Peggy.

He loved her. The one thing he truly wanted was well out his reach. He felt a knife in his chest, tearing all composure he had left into oblivion. She drove him insane. Tears flew down his cheeks, following the path of those past. His hands covered his eyes, shielding them from everything that reminded him of her. He still shook violently, not being able to hold his emotions inside.

That's when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He didn't stop, he couldn't stop the tears.

"Daniel?!" He heard Peggy cry. He heard her rush though he room, frantically pushing anything in her way. He heard the uneasiness in her walking, shooting his head up. Peggy gripped her side as she hobbled over to him. Tears still blurring his vision, he kept his head down and shuffled away

"Go away," He almost whispered. It broke him to even say those two words.

"Daniel-" She said, sitting on the ground next to him. She slid a hand on his shoulder. He flinched at it, soon relaxing into it. He wanted to hug her. He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to tell her that he loved her. He wanted to tell her that he would never let anything happen to her ever again. But he couldn't even utter a single word without a cry escaping from his lips.

"Hey." Her hand remained on his shoulder, slowly making its way to rake through his hair. She knew that it always calmed him down. "What happened?" She asked, her voice shaking from worry. Daniel shook his head furiously, not wanting to bring it up. A tear almost spilt down Peggy's cheek. Daniel lent into Peggy's touch as she spun his hair around on her finger. He knew he shouldn't, but he couldn't stop himself.

Daniel's head landed on her shoulder. His shakes were calming as Peggy held him close. Her hands wrapped around him, one in his hair, one over his arm. She whispered small, reassuring things in his ear, though he could barely hear her. He whimpered into the crook of her neck, calming down significantly. He wrapped his arms around her waist slowly, not wanting to hurt her any more.

With his unsteady breathing and his quiet whimpers, Peggy held him, still stroking his hair.

"Ready to tell me what's going on?" Peggy asked softly, tracing shapes on his back. Daniel shook his head

"I-I can't," He managed, his voice gravely from crying.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure!" He yelled, retreating from her arms. He froze. "Peg- I...I'm so sorry. I-I didn't mean that, I-," He was stopped by Peggy taking both of his hands in hers. This pushed him over the edge. Silent tears poured down his cheeks as he sniffled.

"I know you didn't, Daniel. It's okay," Peggy ran her thumb over the back of his hand.

"Violet broke up with me last night," Daniel whispered. His heart didn't shatter because of it, it shattered because of why. Violet saw what Daniel couldn't.

"Is that what this is about?" She said, softly. He lightly shook his head, plunging Peggy deeper into confusion. "What? Then what is it?"

"I-" He started. He took a deep breath, wiping his cheeks with his sleeve, and turning his hand over, holding hers. "Just promise you won't leave me," He said quietly

"I swear, I will never leave you. I'll even help you hide the body," Peggy nudged Daniel jokingly, even earning a small smile from him. His lip started to tremble as they tightened their grip on each others hands

"I-I love you Peg. I have for a long time. I just- I never want anything to happen to you. You're my everything. Without me realizing, you were the reason I would get out of bed in the morning. You always make me feel better. You make me feel whole," He said, tears dripping down his cheeks. His gaze was fixed to the floor, noting from the silence that it was a bad idea to look up.

His hopes flew apart as he realized what he had just done. He slithered his hand out from hers, but just as he was about to stand up, she placed her hand on his cheek. It froze him in place. All the blood in his body rushed to that spot. His heart hammered in his chest as he met her gaze. She was smiling with wet cheeks. His hand flew to hers, wrapping around it, not believing that it was there. A smile grew across his face, as he saw Peggy lean towards him. He did the same

They're lips met, Peggy's hands cupped Daniel's damp cheeks. They're lips moved in sync, sliding off and on one another. His heart hammered, not wanting to mess up this perfect moment. His worries though, soon melted away as Peggy deepened the kiss. His hands ran through Peggy's hazel hair, savoring every second of it.

Soon, air became a slight problem. Daniel pulled back, still keeping Peggy close. He stared into her beautiful hazel eyes, getting lost in the depth of them

"I love you too, Danny," She softly confessed. Daniel smiled into they're next kiss...
