"How do you know about Shinichiro?"
"Heh. I just so happened to overhear you one night. Plus i've told you that i'm an info broker. Gathering information is as easy as breathing for me."
"......let's say that I do take your offer. Do you have any proof to back that up?"
"Of course I do. Though i'll answer one more question in your mind. Why do I want you as Kisaki's enemy? It's simple, when humans are backed to a corner and forced into chaos, they evolve into beings that even I can't predict. I just want to see which group of humans will come out on top. Will it be you, Mikey, Kisaki, or would it even be that little cry baby you're fond of? I'm willing to do anything to satisfy my curiosity. So then, what do you say, Heiwajima Izayoi?"
Izayoi was thinking about this for a moment. In all honesty, it sounded too good to be true. He already considers Kisaki his enemy, so this deal worked in his favor. However, he hates the idea of trusting Izaya. Seeing this, Izaya sighs as he held up his phone.
"You want proof on whether or not you can trust my info. Well then, let me say this. A couple years ago, your older brother stopped seeing you after the date August 20, 2003 correct. On that same day, your foster mother was in the hospital as well. Well on August 20th, a certain event happ-"
"Wait!!!! You're saying this but where is the proof!!!"
"Heh. Follow me."
As Izaya walked ahead, Izayoi begrudgingly followed. However, if Izaya really did know the truth behind Shinichiro's disappearance from his life, he wanted to know. When Izaya stopped walking, he turned towards Izayoi as they reached their destination, a cemetery.
"Before I show this to you. I have a picture i'd like to show you. If the man in the photo is someone you recognize, then that confirms my theory."
"Okay...that seems reasonable."
"Tell me, does this man look familiar to you, Iza-chan?"
Izayoi was silent as he looked at the photo Izaya showed him. When he instantly recognized him, he realized what Izaya was getting at. Them being in a cemetery, Izaya mentioning Canaria's date of death. Seeing Izayoi's reaction, Izaya smiled.
"This man you see was a murder victim. His name was Sano Shinichiro, the leader and founder of a gang known as Black Dragon. Sound familiar?"
"Sano....wait a minute........"
"In this day and age, delinquents are seen as lame. But in my brother's generation it was different."
Izayoi's eyes widen in shock. His own brother often told him stories about him leading his gang. Not to mention that when Mikey talked about his own brother, it reminded Izayoi of his. Now that he knows Shinichiro's family name, he had so many questions. Soon he looked towards Izaya.
"So then...do you wanna know the truth of what happened to your older brother?"
".............yes."
"I'm merely giving him the truth. Should the truth weaken his faith in Toman and Mikey, then so be it. Hehehe."
"Well then Iza-chan. Prepare yourself, to learn about the murder of your older brother. Let's sit down."
As Izaya and Izayoi sat down on a bench, Izaya mentally smirked. He may not be able to beat Izayoi physically, but mentally defeating him will be easier. All he has to do is plant seeds of doubt in the boy's mind. If he does well, it may cause a wedge between Toman, Mikey, and Izayoi.
"On August 20 in the year 2003, two boys were breaking into a bike shop. The owner of the shop caught one of the culprits trying to steal a motorcycle he was working on. However, while he was focused on the first one, the other one made his move."
"......."
"The owner of the bike shop was hit at his temple with a wrench, killing him in the process. Shortly afterwards, the cops took them in for breaking in and for murder. Though one who killed Shinichiro was sent to juvie for two years."
"What are their names."
It wasn't a question, it was a demand. Izaya smiled seeing this. He already knew Izayoi was getting close to Baji. He knows that once he answers the boy, things will get a bit hectic. Soon Izaya stood up as he walked away.
"Keisuke Baji and Kazutora Hanemiya. Have fun with that information, Izayoi. Also....forget about your side of the bargain. Consider this a free lecture since it was your first time dealing with me. Hope i'll see you soon, Heiwajima Izayoi. Also...look ahead."
As Izaya left, Izayoi looked straight ahead. When he did, he felt his eyes widen as tears were falling from his face. Right in front of him was a grave. The name on the grave was Sano Shinichiro. As Izayoi was standing up and walked towards the grave, he spoke up.
"If what he said was true...then you were murdered. I spent my days in blissful ignorance as you were robbed of a future. Shinichir-..............Big Brother.....i'm so lonely without you. You told me to live my life how i'd want to...but I wish you told me what to do if I could never see you again. Shinichiro, i'm scared. I'm scared of these feelings dwelling inside me....please...tell me.....what should I do, Brother."
Complex. That was the only word he could use to describe his situation. He felt sad learning that his brother, who he respected more than anyone, was killed. He felt anger knowing someone is out there with his brother's blood on their hands. Finally, he felt joy. If his brother and Mikey's brother are truly one and the same, that means he's not alone. Canaria's last words will come true. If he truly has family left, he wants to protect them. However, this situation was too bittersweet for Izayoi to think with a clear head. As Izayoi starts walking away from the cemetery, he was thinking to himself.
"Shinichiro, what would you do if you were in my situation?"
