A/N - So we are back to Eden's perspective. Hopefully you liked the change in perspective.
I sink into my bed and bury my face into my pillow. Mum knows something is up and I have no idea what she knows. Does she know about Asher? Or what about the fact I'm not flipping my coins? Argh... I wish I knew. If she does suspect something, I'm going to have to get better at hiding it. I need to seriously work on my lying. I still have my face buried in my pillow when the notification sound goes off on my phone. Asher's name lights up my phone, Hey, How are you? Um... would you happen to know what homework we had? A smile spreads widely across my face and I realised for the first time. It is definitely Asher that has made me happy recently. Also, the fact that I'm no longer flipping coins seems to be helping with my happiness. I used to be called weird, a freak, nasty, stupid, dumb and an idiot because stupid answers made me end friendships when nothing was wrong. They made me fail tests. They made me do stupid things and I wish I had stopped sooner.
I reach for my phone and type a reply, I wasn't too happy until now, We only had to do that science worksheet we got given. And also thanks for knowing exactly when to text me. I read and edit my message a few times before hitting send. It doesn't take too long until my phone is lit up with Asher's name again.
Why what happened? I hope you are alright babe... I'm here whenever you need me. Aw Asher is the sweetest thing ever. Wait! Did he just call me babe? OMG! I'm so happy.
"Eden, dinner's ready," Mum informs me and I run down the stairs beaming. "What's up with you?"
"Oh Grace just called me," I grit my teeth and fight through the lie.
"What did she want?" mum asks me. Gees mum, why so many questions.
"She was just asking about homework and then she finished with some funny joke that I can't remember," I grit my teeth again and continue to fight my way through my current lies. We are silienced as mum puts my dinner in front of me. We always eat dinner in silence. No matter what. I don't even know why.
.....
It doesn't take long for me to finish dinner and rush back to my room to see if anyone else had messaged me. Nope. No one else been texting me like always so I respond to Asher. Don't worry, it's a family thing and aw thanks for being so sweet. Like always, I read the message a few times before deciding to send the message.
Aw... aren't you gonna babe me...babe. Now he had me beaming again. How do I beat that?
Um... well, you know how I wanted to tell you something? That should be ok.
Yeah Babe, Does he know how to stop saying babe, this is starting to ruin what I want to be the first to say.
Well I think I would like us to do something after school tomorrow, just us. Are you free? It takes me a good 5 minutes to build up enough confidence but I eventually hit the send button.
I certainly would be free, you think of something and I'll be there for sure.
I pace around my room thinking of a romantic way to end tomorrow. Ah... we can go to that new ice cream place and then we can go for a picnic in the park with our ice cream. Ok. We'll walk there after school tomorrow. We'll be done between 4:30 and 5. Yep, I think that sounds ok.
Yep sure thing, I can't wait to see what you've planned for me Eden. Will I need any money?
Yeah, it would pay to bring some just in case. Now hopefully I can convince mum to let me go out tomorrow after school.
A/N - If you know me, I almost used my actual POI's name instead of Asher. Whoops...
