"So as you all know, The talent show is in 3 days time," Mrs Williams reminds us. I look at Asher just as he looks at me and he winks so I wink back. I can't wait for us to preform. I'm playing the piano for our performance while Asher is singing the verses and then we are singing together for the chorus. We also have Jess joining us to play the guitar part and sing the chorus. As it turns out, Asher is actually a really good singer and he just likes to hide his talent. Everyone thinks I am singing in our performance but they are going to be shocked when Asher starts it off.

"Can we practise?" Dayna asks.

"Of course," Mrs Williams answers, "If you are working on a talent show piece that requires a piano, you may go and find a practice room now." Four talent show group including Asher and myself rush off. Asher claims Studio 2 which reminds me of the first day when I really realised that he liked me. The morning when it was so fun filled and just a great way to start the day. Except it's fourth period now and we are about to begin practising for the Talent Show.

"Hey Jess, did your mum say anything about me the other day?" I ask her when she walks in.

"She did, why's that?" she asks.

"Well, Asher and I had a double date with Grace and Annabel and your mum was there," I say. She drops her head.

"So, now you know my little secret," she looks upset, annoyed.

"Hey, don't be upset. Asher made your mum change her mind, he stood up for you, for his friends, for everyone," I say. I stand up from the piano stool and hug her.

"Thanks, but please don't tell anyone," she says.

"Why would we, we never wanted people to know about us, but they do because of Thomas," I tell her.

"Oh, well as long as you don't tell, I'm fine with you knowing. Now let's get to practising," she says.

I sit back down at the piano and spread my music out across the music stand thing on the piano. Jess takes a seat in the corner and place her music on her own stand. Asher stands to the side of the piano and we are finally set up and ready to go. We begin to play 'A thousand years' by Christina Perri. It is sounding so great and I can't wait to perform it for the school. It's going to be amazing. We finish it and stop for a short break.

"Well that went well, best run through ever if you ask me," I say and the others nod to show they agree.

"Now we just have to sound like that on the day," Asher says.

"Or better," Jess adds. I smile at her and she smiles back before practising a short part in her music which needs just a little more practise. "Yes!" she exclaims as she gets it perfect the first time. I stretch my arm out with my hand ready to give her a hi-five. She slaps my hand while I slap hers leaving us both with fiery red hands. We get ready for a second run through and smash it the second time around as well.

"I'm going to go grab a pencil, I'll be back soon," I say.
