A/N - Hi, so I know you probably hate me for the super short chapter that is chapter 22 but I don't want to spend too much time on Asher's POV because I'm going to have more of his POV later on in the book.
I'm so relieved to have finally told him how I feel. I'm also relieved that he feels the same way. Thomas may know but that's the least of my worries right now. I have to tell mum, hopefully she will accept the fact that I have a boyfriend and be happy for me. I skip through the door with a wide smile spread across my face. Ah, this afternoon was so great even though we had a bad start to the date. "How was your date?" mum asks me the second I reach her.
"It was fantastic!" I tell her truthfully.
"What happened and who were you with?" she asks me whilst cutting up vegetables for dinner.
"Well, I went to the park with one of the guys in my class," I reply.
"Who?" she asks me again.
"Asher."
"Do you two have a little thing going on?" she questions.
"Um, well he is my boyfriend now, I hope that's alright," I reply nervously hoping she will approve of my first ever relationship
"Aw, my little Eden is growing up," she says wrapping her arms around me, "but if he ever hurts you, let me know because I don't want my little girl getting hurt." A sigh of relief escapes my mouth. I'm so glad she approves.
"Mum, I'm 15," I tell her.
"Yeah I know but it's gone so quickly. I would like to meet him someday soon. Invite him around for dinner one night," Mum tells me, I nod before heading off to my bedroom. I search for my art book and sketching pencils and eventually settle down on my bed and begin to draw. I sketch something special, something that means a lot to me at the moment. Ashden. I creatively arrange the letters to create a fantastic piece of art for my art wall. On the top I write both of our names so it reads Asher O'brien and Eden Withers. It very quickly becomes a colourful piece with a bunch of different shades and just colours in general.
"Eden, dinner is ready!" Mum shouts up the stairs and I slam my art book shut a rush down the stairs. I'm nearly at the bottom but lose my balance sending me face first down the stairs. I had rolled my left ankle and can feel my weight crushing it beneath me. I wince in pain and mum walks over to me. "Are you alright? Here give me your hand and I'll help you up." I throw my arm up into the air and begin putting pressure on my right foot. I let mum support me around my waist and eventually manage to get up. Placing my left foot down just delivers a dull ache that wont' take too long to disappear. My carpet burned knees are stinging as I limp into the kitchen putting limited pressure on my left foot.
"Just a rolled ankle, it should be alright tomorrow," I assure mum and can see the colour slowly reappearing on her face.
"Gees Eden, you scared me," she says, "I'll get you a bandage out of the first aid kit after dinner." That is all she says before sitting down at the table and the silence echoes throughout the house.
