alyssa

After a few more seconds, Alyssa feels her phone vibrating and groans as she looks at the screen.

It's a text from JD, so she opens it to respond.

New text from JD

JD: Can I come in? Drew is in his room.

Alyssa: yes.

Seconds after she sends the text, she hears a quiet knock at the door. She stands up from her recent position in the bed and walks towards the door. She unlocks it and opens it partially as JD squeezes in and shuts the door behind him. Alyssa goes back to her spot on the bed as JD stands over the bed staring at her, concerned.

"What's happening? Are you okay?" He asks, just as confused as Drew. Alyssa groans and rolls her eyes.

"Are all guys just stupid?" She asks, not caring about her rude comment.

"Hold up. What did I do?" he asks, coming to sit on the edge of the bed by her feet. She sits up and looks at his face trying to read it.

"You really don't understand why I'm upset?" She asks quietly, almost starting to feel stupid.

"I'm assuming it's about Drew, but I'm only guessing that because you wouldn't let him in the room," he says, genuinely confused.

"It is about Drew. And the stupid interview. And the stupid question where he basically said my feelings for him were one-sided," Alyssa rambles on, letting a tear finally fall and roll off her cheek. She quickly wipes it away as JD moves closer to her now.

"Hey, hey it's okay to be upset. You don't have to hide it from me," he says, reassuring her, rubbing her shoulder.

"I just really thought we were starting to have something, and he goes and says that we're just friends. Like what the fuck was that. I've literally spent every night with him," she says softly, letting the tears fall. JD gets up, grabs tissues off of Austin's desk, and hands them to her, smiling softly.

"Guys are stupid, Lyss you should know this by now," he says jokingly, making her chuckle lightly.

"Just talk to him," he says again, but Alyssa instantly shakes her head no.

"No, he probably doesn't feel the same, so I'm not wasting my breath," She says, denying her feelings for the boy. JD frowns but nods his head and gets back into bed with her, this time sitting next to her.

"Okay, so what are we going to do now?" he asks.

"Movie?" She suggests, and Jonathan nods, grabbing the remote to Austin's TV. The two argue over what movie to watch for a few minutes but finally decide on 5 feet apart.

"Haven't you already watched this movie?" he asks, glancing at the girl as they both get more comfortable.

"Yes, but it is hands down the best movie on Netflix," She admits, laughing a bit. A little bit into the movie, she feels her phone vibrating. She looks down at her screen and reads Drew's name. She frowns and unlocks her phone opening up the text.

New text from: Drewskey

Drew: just tell me you're okay

Alyssa: I'm dandy.

Drew: Can we talk?

Alyssa: I'm watching a movie with JD.

Drew: After?
