The first day back at Anahata, Bose had them start inside the sensory deprivation chambers, clocking the minutes each of them could maintain the theta frequency without interruptive thoughts breaking in. He stood in the passage, monitoring the six students who were levitating in front of him. His eye on the clock, as Hiranur was the first to click into the flat state of calm. Yinka, then Raë, the others followed soon. Seconds raced, minutes ticked by in rapid succession.

All six were able to maintain the theta frequency for more than sixty minutes without once letting a stray vibration in. When the hour was up, Bose clicked a button on his remote, a binaural beat resonated in their chambers waking them up. Slowly emerging from the hypnagogic state, they stretched, staring listlessly at the swaying trees. Then one by one, they made their way out of the cubicles and into the den where Bose awaited them.

The pendulum ticked steadily. The Mandelbrot set contracted and magnified each recursive detail at hypnotic speeds.

"The theta frequency acts like an antenna connecting your mind to that of the universal mind. While maintaining the theta frequency for lengths of time, hyper-communication takes place through wormholes. Hyper-communication is faster than the speed of light. Wormholes are microscopic tunnel connections between areas in the universe that are outside space and time. Through these wormholes, utilizing the language of geometry - information gets transmitted instantly."

Bose handed them pen and paper.

"Draw for me what you see in the blank of your mind."

"The shapes are complex ..." said Ezra.

"And multi-dimensional," said Yinka.

"What's essential is that I recognize the geometry. This is not an art contest, it's so that I can identify the shapes."

Yinka started with a triangle, then drew triangles within triangles.

Chin-Hae drew a cube, as though spinning on its vertex. Hiranur took out her ruler and carefully measured each of the angles. Æsh sat counting each side: five, six, seven, eight. Raë lifted her sheet of paper and extended her arm for better perspective, then said, "I'm done."

Bose examined her drawings, then went around the room till he had examined them all.

"That's the tetrahedron," he said, pointing to the triangles. "That's a hexahedron," he said, pointing to the cubes. "The octagonal shape is an octahedron, the double triangle the icosahedron, the pentagonal a 'dodecahedron'."

"What are these?" asked Ezra.

"These are platonic solids."

"What are platonic solids?" asked Yinka.

"Everything in the physical world is based on these five forms, from individual atoms to the DNA in your operating systems. Each element in the periodic table has a geometric relation to one of the platonic solids; as do the elements of nature: earth, water, fire, air and ether."

Ezra looked down at his scrawls. These rudimentary doodles correspond to all matter?

The den was silent, they were trying to find meaning in their drawings.

"Now, let's step outside for a demonstration," said Bose.

They followed him out to the garden clearing and settled on the chairs.

Bose raised his hand and pointed in front of him: a dodecahedron popped into vision. It was alive and levitating. "This is the dodecahedron. It has 12 pentagonal shapes. It emanates energy from all 12 sides in equal proportions. It corresponds to ether. It is the fifth element, the highest form of consciousness, the level at which you can manifest at the speed of thought."
