Ashiya Futaba's Story (Part One)

Chapter Ten

"Ashiya-kun actually noticed just by having a bite of your Chou farci which wasn't your specialty. After winning the Pluspol Award, you are unsure of where to go" says Dojima. 

"Stagnating for a chef means retrogression and staying the same. Despite making Chou farci which isn't Kojiro-san's specialty mainly because he didn't want us to find out. However, I know just with a bite" says Futaba as she looks straight into straight into Shinomiya's eyes.

"Shut up!! What would you know about me?!" Shinomiya yells and Dojima hands him Megumi's dish.

"Try it. Tadokoro-kun's dish" says Dojima. 

Shinomiya hesitated but eventually takes the first bite. Second. Third. Shinomiya remain silent after three bites. 

"A taste of home in Megumi's Rainbow Terrine" Futaba rephrases her previous sentence as Shinomiya places a coin in Megumi's plate.

Hinako then places her own coin in Megumi's dish, declaring that the Shokugeki is a draw and Megumi can continue to stay in Totsuki.

After getting out of the basement, Megumi and Futaba realizes that they have tons of missed calls from Yuki and Hirose respectively. Futaba then accompanies Megumi back to meet up with the others while Soma punches the wall saying that he lost with Dojima watching him. 

The third day of camp was hectic as usual but the Polar Star dorm kids and some of Futaba's old friend manage to pass the third day. It's nightfall and the students were already preparing to go to sleep when Dojima announced the students to be gathered at the banquet hall in their school uniforms. 

When the gang arrive at the banquet hall, they could easily tell how worn out the students are. Just then, Soma was ambush with questions from Ikumi and Takumi. 

"Takumi, Isami" Futaba called, upon noticing the Italian twins. 

"F-Futaba! It's really you?!" Takumi exclaims with a blush. 

"It's been a while" Futaba says with a gentle smile that made his heart went boom. 

"We've missed you. Nii-chan cried when you weren't here" says Isami. 

"I-Isami! I did not cry!!" Takumi denied with flushing with embarrassment. 

"I miss everyone too" says Futaba as she pulls Isami and Takumi into a hug separately. 

"Everyone your attention please!" Dojima's voice boomed through the hall, gaining the students' attention. 

"The reason I had everyone gathered here is to inform about tomorrow's test. You'll have to come up with a buffet breakfast meal for the people and staffs here at Totsuki Resort. 

The main ingredient is Egg and we will not limit to any specific cuisine style requirement. As long as your provide an Egg meal as your main ingredient, any cuisine style is fine. The exam will start at 6am tomorrow" says Dojima. 

"It's 6pm right? Not 6am right?" Yuki ask.

"No, he did say 6am" Shun confirms. 

"Which means..."

"THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO SLEEP?!?!?!"

After Dojima dismissed, the students start to panic upon their dish. Meanwhile, Futaba already had a rough idea on what she's going to serve.

Futaba then makes her way to the kitchen as she starts to test out her dish and she managed to complete her testing within two hours. After finishing she quickly returns to her room and instantly falls asleep. 

"Oi, you heard of the Shokugeki? One of the Ashiya siblings was in it and apparently she lost" says one of the students in the junior high division. 

"They say she was seen going up somewhere" That sentence had caught Futaba's attention. 

She held onto Hirose's hand which prompt him to stop walking. 

"Futaba?"

"We need to find Haru, pronto!"

Futaba and Hirose searched around the campus until Futaba found her sister standing on top of a building. Panic came about as she quickly runs up.

"HARU!!" Futaba called. 

Ashiya Haru lifelessly turns around to see her twin older sister. She sheds a few tears. 

"Sorry Nee-chan" says Haru as she slowly leans back.

Futaba's eyes widen as she quickly runs forward. She grabs Haru's arm but she fell along with her. *CRASH* Futaba's head was bleeding but she is alive. Her sister was dead. She couldn't save her.

Students surrounded the two and murmurs were heard. When Hirose came it was too late. Haru was covered in pool of blood which Futaba eyeing on her lifeless body. 

At that time, Erina, Hisako, Ryo, Alice, Akira, Ikumi, Takumi and Isami were there. They all saw how the two sisters fell but only one survived. 

Futaba raged and was was not able to control her anger that day. She screamed while crying for her dead sister. Even her brother couldn't calm her down. 

After the death of Ashiya Haru, nobody dared to get close to Hirose or Futaba, especially Futaba. After noticing her behaviors of occasionally cutting herself, Hirose suggest to let her see a psychiatrist. 

Later, Senzaemon had sent Futaba to France, for Shinomiya Kojiro to take care of her while Hirose remained in Totsuki. It has been two years since. Nobody talked about the Ashiya siblings' tragedy, until Futaba's sudden return to Totsuki. 

Futaba gasp as she shot her eyes wide open with sweat forming around her forehead. She sits up and glance at the clock. 5am. An hour till it begins. 

Futaba quickly did her morning routines and made her way to the hall where she is supposed to be. There, she ended up in the same group as Yuki, Shun, and a familiar face, Hayama Akira. And it just so happens that her work kitchen is beside him.

"It's been two years" says Hayama. 

"Likewise Akira. All the best" says Futaba.

The two exchange smirks and soon, the clock struck 6am and Dojima began to give a briefing where to pass, they must pass with two criteria. 

Serve up to more than 200 servings and the judges must be satisfied with the dish. After the briefing, the door opens to reveal the judges and soon, the breakfast battle of eggs has begun.
