The Giant and His Light : Book 2

Part Seven

Before the giant could do anything like beat the crap out of James, I held onto his arm.
Me: "Ignore him." I said whispering to him. I didn't want the giant to be wasting his energy on James. I knew that James said what he said to provoke the giant. He wanted a reaction from him. I've long realized that James liked provoking the giant. He always wanted the giant to be winded up and going crazy. He was a sick and crazy white boy. I didn't like him at all. What he said didn't even hurt me. I'm sure his intention was to hurt me and take a jig at the giant.
Robert: "James, shut the fuck up."
Diana: "Robert language!" She reprimanded... "James that wasn't a nice thing to say." James snorted.
James: "But it's the truth." He said shrugging and taking a sip of his beer.
Zanoxolo: "I will fuck you up boy." He said dangerously. Everyone sitting around the table tensed up. Oh boy! James had a nervous look on his face.
Diana: "Zano don't mind your brother. You know how he gets when he has a few drinks." She said trying to laugh it off.
Zanoxolo: "Don't fucken care. If he spews nonsense again, I will fuck him up." I was holding on to the giant's arm for dear life because my man wanted to go to where James was sitting. His arm that I was holding onto was shaking. He was fuming people!
Diana: "Zano, its Christmas. Forgive him...please." She begged a little desperately... "Robert, talk to your sons."
Robert: "James needs to stop drinking and talking shit because if he doesn't, I also won't be able to help him darling." Diana huffed annoyed and irritated.
Diana: "You're not helping Robert." Robert just shrugged and sipped on his juice... "Zano come sit down next to Cassandra and Busi go and sit on the open sit next to James."
Zanoxolo: "No." He said through gritted teeth.
Diana: "What do you mean no honey?"
Zanoxolo: "My woman will sit next to me."
Diana: "But the only two open sits are next to Cassandra and next to James."
Zanoxolo: "Then we're leaving." He stated strongly. Oh my gosh!
Diana: "Zano!" She exclaimed... "what do you mean you're leaving?"
Zanoxolo: "What I just said mother. It's either my woman sits next to me or we'll leave."
Diana: "Zano stop overreacting. It's just sitting arrangements, and it's not like Cassandra is a stranger to you. Don't you remember her?"
Zanoxolo: "No."
Diana: "Zano! How can you not remember her? Remember how close you were when you guys were teenagers?"
Zanoxolo: "I don't."
Diana: "Zano!" She shouted frustrated. The giant grunted.
Zanoxolo: "I don't remember her."
Diana: "Remember how her mother and I used to joke about how you guys would get married someday?" What was this? Matchmaking?
Zanoxolo: "Mother stop this." He growled... "the only woman I'll be marrying in this lifetime is the one standing next to me. Now if you're going to make my woman sit next to that worm and not beside me, then we'll leave. Simple as that." He told her. Did your man just call James a worm? Yes, yes he did. Your man is the bomb. Yes, yes he is. Diana was red in the face now. I could see that she was stuck. She didn't know what to do now that her plan was failing. She kept brushing her hair out of her face. The other people who were sitting around the table were sharing nervous glances amongst each other. The one that I had guessed was Cassandra was giving me dirty looks. What a skinny white bitch she is! Don't be mean brain. I reprimanded. What? I'm not being mean. It's the truth. Look at her bony shoulders Busi. I giggled inwardly... "so what is it going to be mother?"
Robert: "Oh for fucksakes Diana. Just give the boy what he wants so we can eat. Jesus!" Diana released a sound that was between a huff and a growl.
Diana: "James come and sit next to Cassandra."
James: "Up I go." He said standing up and going to sit on the open sit that was between Cassandra and Diana. The giant pulled me to towards the two open sits. Oh my gosh! So much drama and we just arrived. I was feeling a little awkward. Diana had invited a woman that apparently had been the giant's teenage friend in the hopes of matchmaking them. What boggled my mind is that, Diana knew that I was coming today but she still planned what she planned. She really didn't like me people. She didn't want the giant to marry me. Wow! I was shocked shame. My insecurities tried to poke their heads out but I squashed them down. I knew my man loved me people. I wasn't going to start second guessing myself.  I was the one wearing the ring on my finger and I was the one that the giant was crazy in love with. I wasn't going to start comparing myself with her. Yes, she might be beautiful and slender but that didn't matter. So I wasn't going to stress myself. The giant and I sat down. I was between the giant and Robert.
Robert: "Hey Busi. You look stunning in your outfit today." I blushed.
Me: "Thank you." I whispered shyly. I was wearing a simple tight black dress that was just above my knees and red heels. Earlier on we fought with the giant about the dress. He didn't want me to wear it because he said it showed the assets that belonged to him out to the world and he didn't want that. After a long back and forth between him and me, he let me wear it. Mind you, he still wasn't happy but he caved only because I said the dress gave me the confidence I needed to face his mother and family. And I wasn't lying, the dress did somehow give me a confidence boost together with my red heels. I always felt good when I wore this outfit.
Zanoxolo: "Too tight and short if you ask me." He grumbled. His father burst out laughing and I shook my head rolling my eyes.
Diana: "What is so funny on that end?" She asked. She was on the other end of the table.
Robert: "Nothing darling. Just Zano being his possessive self."
Diana: "Oh okay. Since Zano is here, let's eat people. You can dish for yourselves." The giant took my plate and dished for me. My man guys! He's the best. I could see other people around the table whispering and looking at me. Oh well. Now that I was here, they weren't a intimidating bunch as I thought they would be. After the giant dished for me, he dished for himself.
Robert: "I raised my boy well, don't you say Busi." I nodded smiling. I liked Robert. He was a good man and father. He treated the giant like he was his real son. It was beautiful to see. After the giant finished dishing for himself, he sat down.
Zanoxolo: "Why are you not eating? Eat baby." He ordered. I had been waiting for him.
Robert: "She was waiting for you. Like a queen waiting for her king." He winked at me.
Zanoxolo: "I like that. Her king." He said smirking. I rolled my eyes. And Robert chuckled.
Robert: "Of course you would."
Zanoxolo: "You know me best father."
Robert: "Of course. You're my son. I raised-."
Diana: "Hey guys don't be rude. Engage us also in your talk." She said a little irritated. The giant grunted.
Zanoxolo: "Your wife is starting father." He said softly to his father.
Robert: "What do you mean we're rude honey? Everyone is having their own little conversations amongst themselves."
Diana: "Well, I want to hear what you guys are talking about there. I'm sure the others feel the same. We want to be included."
Robert: "Honey, don't start please." He said in a hard voice. It reminded me a lot of the giant when he used the same tone of voice. Now I know where he got it from. The whole table went silent.
Diana: "What do you mean? I'm not starting anything. I just feel like you guys are excluding us." Robert shook his head and brushed his forehead. He was annoyed and irritated you could see. He didn't say anything and started to eat his food.
Zanoxolo: "Eat my heart." He ordered. I picked up my fork and started to eat slowly. Nobody was saying anything now. Yeesh! Diana just made things awkward and tense. I knew that her problem was with me. She was irked that her plan with Cassandra hadn't worked. The bitch must go and die! Keep quiet. I said chuckling on the inside. My brain guys! I felt like after the therapy session yesterday he was a little saucy if I may put it that way and also more vocal than ever.
Diana: "Ookaaay! I see that I'm being put on ice. Okay, everyone can continue with what you were doing or saying...or whatever..." She said awkwardly. She was flustered. The other people around the table shared unsure glances amongst each other. They didn't know if they should talk or not. It was funny actually.
James: "Hey brother, you're missing out on a great woman here. Leave that fat fiancé of yours and come over to this side." The giant paused his eating and his hands tightened into fists and a deep growl emanated from his chest.
Robert: "Ignore him son."
Zanoxolo: "Can't let him disrespect my woman like this father." He said through gritted teeth.
Robert: "I know. But he's trying to get a rise out of you."
Zanoxolo: "Next shit that comes out of his mouth, we're leaving."
Robert: "I completely-."
James: "Hey brother don't be rude and ignore me. I said leave your fat bitch-." Before he could finish, the giant was out of his chair and was on James. It happened so fast that nobody had a chance intervene. He dragged James out of his chair, and then he was punching him on the face. People were up on their chairs including myself watching in horror. Diana was the only one screaming for Zano to stop. I looked at Robert and was surprised to find that he was still sitting on his chair. He was eating people, like nothing out of the ordinary was happening. Oh my gosh! The giant punched James in the gut a couple of times and James fell to the ground crying. The giant turned and walked over to me. He grabbed my hand and then he was pulling me in the mansion towards the direction of the entrance door. I guess we were leaving. We got in the car, and the giant put the car on start and drove off so fast out of there even the tires squealed. His hands were wrapped around so tightly on the steering wheel. His whole body was shaking and he was even breathing a little harshly. His jaw was ticking. Oh boy. I decided to let him be until he cooled down.
Zanoxolo: "I swear that one day I will kill that bastard." He said after a while we've been on the road. His anger hadn't dissipated.
Me: "You can't kill your brother Zano."
Zanoxolo: "That shit is not my brother." He spat. I sighed.
Me: "Technically he is, whether you like it or not." He gritted his teeth... "you know how he is. All he does is to provoke you and you let him and fall into his trap. He wants to make you out to be this crazy black man in front of all those people."
Zanoxolo: "I don't care. I am a crazy black man."
Me: "Zano..."
Zanoxolo: "What am I supposed to do woman when he disrespects you like he just did back there? You want me to just sit and do nothing? Fuck no!" He shouted hitting the steering wheel... "mark my words woman, his day is coming. Don't say I didn't tell you." I shook my head and kept quiet... "and also my adoptive mother is as bad as her fucken worm of a son." He growled... "I don't know what she thought when she invited that skinny ass ugly woman today." I couldn't help but snort at that. I don't know why I was cool as a cucumber this time. Usually I would be a mess. My insecurities and demons would be doing as they saw fit with me, but not this time. I'm also surprised to tell you the truth. Maybe it's the dress? Nah! I don't know, but whatever that was making me be this chilled, I hoped it stuck so that when situations like these happen again, my insecurities and demons can be at bay.
Me: "Your mother really doesn't want you to marry me."
Zanoxolo: "Then she's really uninvited to the wedding." I laughed.
Me: "Zano you can't do that."
Zanoxolo: "I can, and I just did." I shook my head amused. My man guys! ... "don't want anyone who doesn't want us to be together to be at our wedding. They don't deserve to celebrate with us on that day." He did make a good point. But I still didn't think uninviting Diana was a good way to go. But even so, I was going to let the giant deal with his mother. I wasn't going to get involved this time. Good girl, my boy. Oh wow! What had gotten into you lately? What do you mean. Nothing. I'm just proud of you that's all.
