Part Four

It was the next day and I was getting ready for church in the bedroom. The giant was in the living room with some of his friends. I think it was Xolile, Temba, the twins and others. I wasn't sure because they had arrived whilst I was still in the bathroom showering. They were making a ruckus people. I'm sure the whole building could hear their laughter and howling. Hee. Well, they were being their usual selves when they got together. I'm sure our neighbors were used to it by now, but it had been a while since I heard them being like this because for the past 2 weeks it had been hell. You guys knew all about it. So, it was refreshing and nice to hear them being like this. I still wondered though about Mandisa's death. Why were they keeping it hush hush? Like, I really wanted to know what happened. I had gotten over the shock of her death now. I was just curious about the cause of death and who killed her. And Kevin? I wonder how he was. I mean, his girlfriend of 3 years was dead. How was he coping with all of it? Yesterday before we went to sleep with the giant, I tried to get the answers out of him but it was to no avail. Did you seriously think by doing all that you did yesterday would make your man tell you everything? Yes! You're stupid. How am I stupid? Well, for the most part, you know very well that your seduction skills are non-existent. Like...seriously, you should give it up, it's hard to watch when you're embarrassing yourself like that. Oh come on! It was not that bad. Yes, yes it was. Oh mxm! Whatever dude! You don't know nothing okay. I almost had the giant spill the beans for a moment there. My brain snorted. No, you didn't. Stop lying to yourself. All you accomplished was amusing the hell out of that man of yours. Oh well, at least I tried okay? Just get off my case. I wasn't even talking to you in the first place so I don't know why you butted in where you weren't wanted. I was talking to my readers here. I'm sure they don't think I'm useless as you say I am. If they saw you yesterday, I'm sure they would also think you're useless. Shut up brain! Anyway, as I was saying, I tried to get the giant to tell me the details surrounding Mandisa's death, but as always, he was his annoying and frustrating tight lipped self. When I changed tactics and asked about Kevin, how he was handling his girlfriend's death, I just got a "he's fine" response. Did I tell you how annoying and frustrating the giant was? Wow. I gave up. I mean, I really didn't get the secretiveness of all of it. What's worse is that, he had already told me that Mandisa was dead, so he should as well just tell me the damn details of her death too. But as I said that I give up. I wasn't going to pester the giant anymore and inquire about the details anymore. I believed that the truth will be revealed one day. I didn't originally plan on going to church today because of what happened yesterday but I changed my mind because I wasn't going to let the whole drama with my mother and her toy boy stop me from going to worship. I didn't even want to think about what happened yesterday because the whole thing that happened just made me very sad. To think that my mother was going to let her toy boy strangle me. Like, what the heck? Even though I knew that my mother didn't love me and all, the things she did or said always took me by surprise. I also didn't want to keep on hoping that she would one day change how she felt about me or her treatment towards me, but it was hard as hell to stop myself from hoping...from wanting that mother's love. One day though, enough was going to be enough. I couldn't let allow her to abuse me the way she was abusing me. I quickly wore my shoes and grabbed my stuff and went to the kitchen. As always, I was running late.

When I got to the kitchen, it was as I guessed. Xolile, Temba and the twins were there, and also Lukhanyo, Bhekithemba and Kevin. When I saw that Kevin was also here, I was shocked. Like, I literally paused and looked at him with my mouth opened. I don't know, but I didn't expect to see him here so soon. I expected him to be hiding himself somewhere in grief but he was here in the flash people...joking and laughing with the other men. What the hell was going on here? Wasn't Mandisa dead? Didn't he love her kanti? After I composed myself from the shock and all, I greeted the guys. They greeted me back with the usual greeting of 'Superwoman'. The giant warmed up my breakfast and poured juice for me. My man was the best guys. I sat on one of the counter chairs and started to eat my food.
Lukhanyo: "Look at how domestic our chief is gents." Bheki and Kevin chuckled. The giant just grunted.
Xolile: "Is this the first time you're seeing him being like this?" Lukhanyo, Kevin and Bheki nodded.
Temba: "Well you gents have been missing out mos because this is a thing now. The dude has been domesticated by SW."
Lukhanyo: "Wow this fucker." He said shaking his head.
Kevin: "I never thought I would see the day."
Bhekithemba: "How the mighty have fallen."
One of the twins (I think it was Sinethemba) "Don't underestimate our little sister's power gents. I mean, that's why we gave her the name Superwoman in the first place."
Lukhanyo: "But I didn't think her power was on this level. Wow you guys...this is unbelievable." The guys laughed. He was really shocked shame. One of the twins put his arm on my shoulder. I think it was Sithembile. I really swear that one of these days I would eventually know who was who. So please forgive me guys.
One of the twins (The one who had his arm on my shoulder): "Sharing is caring SW." He said whispering looking at my plate. I chuckled shaking my head.
Zanoxolo: "Leave my woman's food alone." He barked.
Xolile: "S'the bro save yourself, and don't touch anything on that plate. I almost lost my hand the last time I stole one of the sausages. Iyavimba le kaka." The guys laughed.
Kevin: "I really have a new level of respect for SW today."
Lukhanyo: "Dude!" He said shaking his head in disbelief... "like she accomplished the impossible."
Bhekithemba: "We should start bowing to her now." I rolled my eyes chuckling.
Zanoxolo: "Enough. Let my woman eat in peace you assholes." He growled... "baby hurry up and finish. You're going to be late."
Temba: "Yeah, and we also have work to do."
Xolile: "Speaking of work. Luks, were you able to decode those numbers."
Lukhanyo: "Of course. I mean, who am I?"
Temba: "Listen to this shit. He's so full of himself."
Xolile: "He thinks he's the best."
Lukhanyo: "I don't think bhudda. I am the best. Right chief?" The giant grunted... "you see? The chief agrees."
Bhekithemba: "Okay, that's my cue to leave. I'll see you guys at the basement." He said walking towards the door.
Kevin: "I'm also bouncing gents. I have to pass by somewhere first. See you at the base you fuckers." He said following after Bheki. They both exited the flat and closed the door behind them.
Lukhanyo: "Do you think he's doing okay umjita?" The men all shared a look.
Temba: "He looks okay." He said shrugging.
Lukhanyo: "But is he really okay? That's the question."
Xolile: "Would you be okay if you did what he did?" His question was met with silence. The men shared a look again. What the? Who and what were they talking about? Kevin? What did he do? Was this about Mandisa? I was lost people.
Zanoxolo: "Let's not talk about this. Everybody will take what happened that day to their graves, understood?" The men murmured their agreements... "woman, you're done?" I blinked and nodded... "then let's go." I quickly downed my juice and we all left.

We were in the car now. The giant and I were in the car alone, and the other guys were following behind us on their own cars.
Me: "What did Xolile mean about Kevin not being fine after what he did?"
Zanoxolo: "Don't worry yourself about what he meant woman. Forget you heard anything." I huffed rolling my eyes.
Me: "It has something to do with Mandisa right?" I was met with silence... "did he do something to Mandisa? Was he the one that...." I trailed off shaking my head. What I was thinking was just impossible guys. I mean, he couldn't have. No. he wouldn't have... "Zano don't tell me-."
Zanoxolo: "Drop it woman." He cut me off using his non-debatable tone of voice.
Me: "But-." The ringing of his phone cut me off. His phone was connected to the car. I could see on the radio screen that it was his father calling. He answered.
Zanoxolo: "Father."
Robert: "Hey son. Are you busy today?"
Zanoxolo: "I'm always busy father." Robert chuckled lightly... "whatsup?"
Robert: "Can you come over the mansion later on? I need you for something."
Zanoxolo: "Are you okay?"
Robert: "Yes yes I'm fine, don't worry. I just need some input from you about a business deal."
Zanoxolo: "For the company?"
Robert: "Yes. It's a huge deal. It could be a game changer for the company. But before I can sign on the dotted line, I want to run it with you first. You know how you have the ability to smell shit from a mile away." The giant grunted.
Zanoxolo: "I don't know what you're talking about." Robert laughed.
Robert: "Of course you don't. I remember how many successful deals you brought in for the company within the 6 months you were there helping me out."
Zanoxolo: "Father..."
Robert: "You know if you weren't so passionate and dedicated as much as you are to what you do, I would've roped you in and made you CEO."
Zanoxolo: "You always say that. Be careful to not let James hear you say that. Remember what happened last time when he did." Robert sighed.
Robert: "That boy needs to grow the fuck up." The giant grunted... "so are going to come around?"
Zanoxolo: "Yes."
Robert: "Thank you my boy. See you then. Now hold on for your mother. She wants to talk to you."
Zanoxolo: "Father-."
Diana: "Zano honey, how are you?" The giant exhaled softly shaking his head..
Zanoxolo: "Hello mother. I'm good. You?"
Diana: "I've been calling you for days but you haven't been answering my calls. Are you avoiding me Zano, your own mother?" She sounded hurt.
Zanoxolo: "I've been busy with work mother. I'm not avoiding you."
Diana: "I hope not because that would be a bad thing to do honey." The giant sighed.
Zanoxolo: "Mother, what do you want?"
Diana: "Is Busi with you?" I held my breath.
Zanoxolo: "No, why?" I looked at him in shock and relief. I really could kiss my giant now people. Oh my gosh! He just lied to his mother!
Diana: "I wanted you to bring her with when you come to the mansion later on."
Zanoxolo: "Why? So you could bully her again?" Oh my gosh!
Diana: "Zano!" She exclaimed... "I didn't bully her. Things didn't happen as she told you."
Zanoxolo: "My woman is not a liar."
Diana: "So I'm the liar Zano? You're calling your own mother a liar? How could you believe everything that Busi told you? After all the preparations I had done, this is the thanks I get?" She was shouting now. Guys... "and what hurts me the most is that my own son chooses to side with a woman whom he's known for a few months. A few months Zano!"
Zanoxolo: "This is not about choosing sides, mother. I know my woman and I know you mother."
Diana: "What's that supposed to mean?" The giant grunted.
Zanoxolo: "Mother, as I told you on the phone that day, Busi will be handling all the preparations concerning the wedding. End of discussion."
Diana: "I can't believe this!" She shrilled.... "she's turning you against your own mother Zano, can't you see it?" What? Wow. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Like...what?
Zanoxolo: "Mother-."
Diana: "I don't even get why you're in a rush to marry her Zano. You just met her. You two still need to get to know each other a while longer before getting into marriage. Marriage is a big step honey." She informed him... "what if you find out that Busi is not the one for you when you're already in the marriage? Then it'll be too late to-."
Zanoxolo: "Do you want to find yourself getting uninvited to the wedding mother?" He was pissed now.
Diana: "Zano, how could you say that?!"
Zanoxolo: "Do you want to find yourself getting uninvited to the wedding, yes or no?" Oh my gosh! Diana sniffed. She was crying! A part of me didn't blame her and also felt bad for her but she should know her son by now.
Diana: "You see how Busi is already coming in between us, and you still want to marry her." Haibo! Did she hate me that much na people? I mean, I thought she liked me. What changed? The giant growled.
Zanoxolo: "I'm done talking now mother. Bye." He hung up. Wow! Just wow. Like, I was shocked shame. My mother-in-law didn't like me people. Was it because I told her what was what that day when I stormed off? Had I been that rude na people? But I only said what I felt at that time. She had been taking over the preparations of my wedding. I hadn't lied about that. You guys are my witnesses. Even though I liked that the giant believed me and was on my side, I still didn't want to come between him and his mother... "don't take everything she said to heart woman." But how could I not?
