The two last days of detention flew by in a blink of an eye. Though they were usual, Saundro was acting a bit........... unusual.
Its Saturday afternoon and I'm in my room packing my final swimwear into my hug, red suitcase. It was a two piece, satin red lace bikini. Saundro had bought it for me on Friday, saying how he didn't forget about my spoiled bikini, which he had spilled juice on.
I folded the swimwear, place it in the suitcase then tried to force the zipper to move on the closed lid, but it did not budge.
"Come on." I said, gripping the zipper tighter and pulling harder. It still did not budge.
"Need help?"
Jessy's voice sounded from my opened room door."Yes please." I said, staring at her with poppy eyes.
"Ew. Stop that. You look constipated." She said, coming to my side.
"Shut up." I laughed.
I sat atop my stubborn suitcase and Jessy tried zipping it up.
"Almost there." She said, zipping it with ease.
"OK. Done. You can get down now you big hippo."
"Ugh," I exclaimed, placing my hand on my chest. "How dear you call me a hippo? I am absolutely flabbergasted."
"Oh, shut up you drama queen."
We stared at each other then bursted out laughing simultaneously.
I hoped off of my now closed suitcase, took out my phone from my front pocket, and sat on my bed, staring at my blank phone screen.
"What's wrong Mia?"
"Nothing." I said softly, feeling my mood changing.
"Is it Saundro?" She asked with concern in her voice.
I nodded my head.
"What did he do?"
I sigh.
"He's been acting weird."
"Weird how?"
"Well, on Thursday, when he came to detention, he was bruised, as if he was in a fight with someone. When I asked him about it, he said it was nothing. Then, Amanda kept calling me saying she wants to have a girls day out so she can tell me something."
"But what's wrong with that? Not the first part, the part about Amanda."
"Every time I told her sure, Saundro comes up with a surprise which makes me change my plans with Manda. Also, on Friday, Saundro and I went to Starbucks for a cup of coffee before we went to school, but as we entered he turned and dragged me out. As we were going to his car, I saw a car that looked like Amanda's own. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was Amanda's car. It had on some pink bubble gum rims and had a sticker on it which said 'I kissed a girl and I liked it' with a Harley Quinn sticker below the writing."
"You think its coincide or something's happening between them?"
"I'm not sure Jess." I said softly.
I placed my phone on the bed and stared at my intertwined hands on my lap instead.
"There's more." She stated more than ask. She can really read me like a book.
I sighed again.
"Yeah. There was something on his neck. At first I though it was a bruise, but when I got a better look at it when I hugged him, I realized that it was more pinkish red in colour than blackish blue like his other bruises. It....... it looked like......... a hickey."
