Lisa POV
"So." I cleared my throat to shake off the awkward energy as I looked out towards the water. My dad gave me a nervous glance, playing with the rings on his fingers and I brought my knees up to my chest.
He should be the one to start the conversation since he demanded this "father daughter bonding time" before I could see my Nini. There was so much I wanted to ask him, so many answers I needed.
"I just want you to know, I've been waiting decades for this chance. I... I feared when you were human, that you would stay human and I'd never get the chance to hear your voice."
I looked at him in surprise, I thought the first vampire didn't have a soul either. Then again, the way he looked at my mom proved otherwise.
"You created the vampire race. You made them born with no souls, why?"
"Because every time I took a life, I hated myself more and more. I thought I was doing my creations a favor by making them feel nothing for humans, had we been able to live off animals I would have. When our body tries to have animal blood, it weakens us, you can thank the witches for that."
I smiled when I remembered my first time trying a bear. Bam and I were hiking and it tried attacking, so I let my instincts take over but the moment I tasted it's blood, I immediately spat it out.
"You have her smile." He smirked at me and I grinned at him. "I'll never forget the day we had to send you away. W-Would you want to see that?"
I nodded and he held out his hand. I took it and immediately I could see the way my mom was crying.
Flashback*
"Sweetheart... we can't lose focus. Remember why we did what we did." I tried hugging her and she immediately pushed me away, hissing at me.
"Easy for you to say! I haven't seen a single tear fall! Have you even thought about her?! Once?!" She shouted at me, furiously wiping her tears and I felt angry.
How dare she think I didn't feel the same sadness! I lived THOUSANDS of years and had to send away my FIRST born child!
"Of course I have! She's mine too! But I'm doing this to protect my daughter, not lead Suzy right to her. You were the first turned vampire, Lalisa has that same ability as you. We need to do what we can and protect her."
I could sense her sadness, her heartbreak was evident in her eyes when I said her name. It took everything in me not to chase after the humans Chittip trusted to raise our child. I needed to know she'd be properly cared for, I needed to see her but I know Suzy could be tracking my every move.
"You're right. I'm sorry." She wrapped her arms around me and I hugged her to me. "I just.. I carried her in me for nine months and only got to hold her for ten minutes. I died giving birth to her, but just hearing her heartbeat makes me miss her. But we need to do right by her. Now."
I nodded, "I'll have Dara have the spell ready when we return to the school. No ones going to be able to harm her after this is done."
I held back my gasp when he stopped letting me in. I frowned at him, "How come I can't hear your thoughts?"
"Because I'm the first ever, no one can hear my mind unless I allow it. Now tell me, what's going on with you and Kim Jennie? Dara has been trying to block me from her thoughts."
"Oh." I smiled sheepishly at him, his eyebrow raising at me in confusion. "Jennie's my soulmate. First succubus from a witch line and-"
"The first turned vampire from my line." He cursed softly as he stared towards the water. "I'm so sorry that you were both brought into this. Bae Suzy has done plenty of damage to your lives already and you never met her."
"I plan to." I hissed angrily, feeling my fangs extend. "When I get my hands on her, I'm ripping her to pieces for what she's done to me and Nini."
"I have to ask, as a father, are you truly in love with her? Or is it just destiny's wish that you both end up together?"
I smiled at the memories Jennie and I have had so far. "She makes me feel like I'm full again. She's my rock and my life, she makes me laugh like crazy and my heart skip when she walks into the room. Even when I can hear her nearby, it makes me feel complete. I'm in love with Jennie, fate or not."
"Then I'm happy." He leaned over to kiss the top of my head. "Now, we need to head back. You have classes soon, young lady." I groaned as he helped me onto my feet. We raced back to the school and parted ways as I went back to my dorm.
I smiled at Jennie sleeping on my bed, just as I left her. I flashed over to give her a kiss on her soft mandu cheek, before getting dressed for class. I walked to my vampire history class, eager to get the day over with.
"Hey little vamp." V smirked as he appeared in the seat next to mine. "You look hot today."
I glared at him and he laughed when I punched his arm. "Whatever, I'll let that slide." He blew me a kiss and I stuck my tongue out at him before pulling out my notebook.
"Okay students." Professor Lee walked in, giving us all a tight smile before sitting at his desk. "Now, don't be alarmed when your instincts scream at you to run or fight. We have a special elder paying a visit right now, he's our maker."
The entire class, minus V and I, gasped and looked at each other in shock. Me? I simply groaned in embarrassment and put my head against the desk.
"Lalisa Manoban!" Professor Lee snapped harshly at me and I shot straight up. "Don't you dare try falling asleep in my class!"
V hissed softly at him. "She wasn't-"
"I'd refrain from talking to my daughter in that tone." My dad said as he walked calmly into the room.
I watched as the students practically went crazy in their minds. Had I not been his daughter, I'd do the same. He's more powerful and the first of us, he could break anyone within a blink and that wouldn't even be half his strength.
"I-I am so sorry, master." He bowed in apology to my dad, who glared at him. I'd never seen Professor Lee in fear, but he didn't bother hiding it. "I had no idea she was your daughter."
"She's my only direct line, trust me when I say she could break you in half if she wanted to. So I'd be very nice to her." He grinned at the class and I could see V tense up.
"Now, after a nice rest, I'm back. That means all Professors report to me. All vampire activities and any conflicts with vampires, I'll be the one to handle that. Don't fear me, children, but also don't test me. You have no right to question my personal life, so do go about your classes as normal. It's been a pleasure."
My dad sounded so cold and in charge, much different than the man who was with me in the forest today. He screamed power as he walked out of the class, I almost felt like laughing at how in shock everyone was.
"Let's continue with our lesson." Professor Lee cleared his throat, but I could still feel all the eyes on me through the class. For once, I was glad V was by my side, he made me feel normal with the vampires.
