V POV
I grinned as she ran over to me, squealing loudly as she saw me waiting for her once her school was out. It was 1945, she was finishing high school and I met her as I joined the college around the block as a human.
"You didn't have to wait for me." She smiled as I easily lifted her off the floor, giving her plump lips a small peck and I could hear her adorable heart beating.
"I wanted to, baby. You hungry?" She immediately nodded and I grinned at my beautiful Thai girlfriend. I'd never met anyone like Lisa, never. No human had captured my attention the way she did. I'd spend the rest of her human days loving her, the way her eyes lit up made me actually feel something.
I never felt emotion. Lisa was my only exception to that. Her beautiful human features and the way her blood smelled, it sometimes made it hard to be around her but I'd rather kill myself than ever hurt her.
"I love you." She smiled at me and I grinned at her.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I groaned at the annoying alarm clock by my bed. I hated dreaming of my memories from long ago, thankfully Lisa wasn't near me otherwise she would've seen my memories. I always thank my stars when I manage to block them when she's around.
Yeah, I knew Lisa when she was human. I was her first boyfriend but when she was turned the memories of me faded as did her other human memories.
I'll never forgive myself for leaving Thailand to hunt in Vietnam the weekend Lalisa and her family were killed. When I came back to Thailand, I thought I'd surprise her at home but when I saw her house had been investigated for murders, my heart broke.
I felt like going insane and on a killing spree when I smelled her blood on the ground. It wasn't until I saw BamBam in the states during the 50s that I knew they were both still alive.
I kept my distance, never knowing it was possible to turn a human and it wasn't. After I caught a glimpse of her, even more breathtaking as a vampire, I tried turning a human for a test run.
The human died and I knew Lisa was special, rare for our kind. So I kept my promise and distance, protecting her from afar. I knew of the school for supernaturals, I never wanted to join so I avoided joining.
It was until the day Lalisa was taken that I knew I'd have to give in or she might be discovered by our kind as used as a tool. I still loved her, she was always the only person that ever made my soulless self feel something.
When I first entered the campus, I saw her kissing another girl and my heart hurt a bit. It was obvious she never remembered anything, she always asked BamBam to tell her stories of their childhood so she could remember.
During that time she wasn't allowed to date me, so she never told anyone about me. That's one of the reasons she was never told anything about me, but I was glad to hear her tell me she had a boyfriend in her human years but doesn't recall anything.
I tested out my theory many times of her being able to read minds. I had to fight the jealousy when I saw Kim Jennie wrap her arms around Lisa or give her a kiss when everything in me wanted that.
I knew that Jackson Wang, a wolf, was her protector.
So was I.
Even though Lalisa is anything but weak, I was glad to know she had many behind her willing to risk their lives for her. I wouldn't hesitate in giving up my life for my love. After almost 87 years of loving her, I'll be damned if I lost her again.
Not when she finally was in my life again.
So to keep up with appearances, I flirted around and made a lie of sleeping with people. Sometimes I would almost slip up and try to make a move on her, but I knew now that Jennie was in her life, she wouldn't entertain the idea of me and her.
So, just for the only woman I love, I'll be selfless and let her be with Kim Jennie. But if there was ever a moment she wanted me, she's mine. The human that would kiss me every day before and after classes, would be mine for our vampire lives.
And I knew something big was going to happen with her life, so I had to be prepared and strong for her. During our time apart, I would break away from her for a few weeks to try and hunt down that scent that killed her family.
I'll never forget the vampires scent so if I ever found it, I'd rip that person to pieces for doing this to my Lalisa. She was the most kindhearted human, she never deserved any of what happened to her. Neither did her family.
I felt my phone beep and I looked to see a text from Lisa, it made me smile immediately. Her nickname in my phone was what I called her as a human, she was always one to hug onto me all the time.
Lisa Monkey: You awake? I need a hunting partner:)
To Lisa Monkey: Down. I'll be there in 5.
I immediately ran to get changed, anxious to see my girl.
Lisa POV
I sighed as I stared at the blood bag in my hands, feeling guilty about what I was about to do but I needed fresh blood. If that old hag would sense us being stronger and wake up, let her wake up.
I'll be ready to kick her ass.
My parents were out practicing with Jennie and Jisoo so I knew the perfect partner in crime. I didn't hesitate texting V, I could always count on him especially for hunting.
With him I didn't have to worry about my speed or strength. I didn't have to worry about feeling judged if I sank my teeth into a human. He was my safe zone in the vampire world.
"Hey." He appeared next to me in my room and I glared at him. "I know, I know. I should've knocked but it's not my fault you were zoned out!"
"I'll let it slide." I stuck my tongue out playfully. "So we need to sneak out before anyone stops us."
"Say less." He smirked and in a blink, he threw me over his shoulder and ran us out the dorms and out of the campus. I giggled the whole way, loving the speed.
