A black car came into view. Jay subconsciously rested his hand on his holster. The car came to a stop at least 12 meters away from where Jay was standing. A large, burly masked man stepped out of the drivers side, another from the passenger's sides, and although Jay hadn't gotten a good view of Lucas, he had a sense that the passenger was him. The large man walked to the trunk and flipped it open.

She heard the key turn and a quiet "click". Erin, expecting to be blinded by the light, squinted her eyes.

The men reached into the trunk and pulled her out of the trunk. Jay tensed up when he saw how rough they handled her, but he bit his lip to refrain from saying anything. They brought her to the front of the car, the smaller one breaking the silence. "Where's my father?" Jay opened the back door, a handcuffed Olinsky stepping out. The smaller one looked at him intently and, seeming satisfied, took a step closer. "Alright, stay ba-" He started. A loud clang could be heard from nearby garbage cans. Both of the men pulled out their guns, the large one aiming the gun at Erin, the smaller one training it on Jay. "I said come alone!" He yelled, shaking his gun. A homeless Atwater emerged, his hands up. "Who the hell are you?!" Atwater took another step closer. "I was just taking a nap and you idiots come in here and pull out guns, and I don't want no trouble" Atwater said in a husky voice. The smaller one looked at him and then looked at Jay. He began to lower his gun, and Jay and Atwater relaxed slightly. All Jay saw was a flash and the sound of gunfire. He hit the ground. "Chicago Police Department, show me your hands!" Voigt's husky voice could be heard through the noise. When the dust cleared, Jay looked around wildly, first glancing at Atwater lying on the ground, then at three bodies lying in front of the car. Erin.
