Chanel POV♡:
The next day I got notice from my lawyer that Andrea wants to bring this to court .
Our court date was scheduled for Friday so that week we all prepared. Caroline and I had a talk and she wanted to testify and speak at court.
The Friday came and we got ready. I got a text saying all the boys and hailey would be going. I got dressed in my blue loose dress that went about midthigh. I put on my earrings and finished my makeup. I slipped on my black open toed heels and grabbed my Black Michael Kors clutch.We a got in the car and drove to court.
We arrived when the boys and Hailey did. We all greeted each other and I realized I was shaking when Tristen grabbed my hand . I kissed his cheek and everyones and looked down at care.
I crouched to her level and said,
"Hey no matter what happens today you are still my daughter even if I don't have you and I love you so much baby."
She smiled and kissed my cheek. I grabbed her hand and we walked inside. This could change my life in just an instant.
We all sat down and then we all rose for the judge. The judge sat and we all took our seats. I was with my lawyer and Caroline was sitting with Sawyer and Tyler. I looked over at her and mouthed "I love you". She blew me a kiss and I smiled.
"Today we are gathered in court due to the custody of Caroline Russet-Lawley. Miss Maraz who will be representing you today?"
Daniel stood and said, "My name is Daniel Martinez and I will be representing my client today, sir."
He nodded and looked over at Kian and Andrea, "And who shall be representing you Mr. Lawley ?"
A tall brunette stood up and said,
"Hello Im Joey Tribbiani and I will be representing Miss Russet and Mr lawley today."
We proceeded as Daniel discussed the situation at hand. He pointed out how I raised Caroline for about 5 years of her life which was indeed longer than Andrea had.
Andrea's lawyer Joey called me up to the stand. I did the swear not to lie crap and he started with the questions .
"Miss Maraz. You are 28 years of age is that Correct?"
"Yes it is."
"Would you say your reckless?"
Daniel spoke up and said, "Relevancy to the case your honor."
The judge held up his hand and said, "Overruled."
I smiled at Joey, "I used to be then I grew up like every other person here."
He chuckled "Is it true you tried to commit suicide and ended up in the hospital ?"
I breathed slowly "Yes many years ago."
"And you ran away several times without contact with your so called friend?"
"Again yes when I was much younger."
"How many years have you raised or been with Caroline?"
"About 5 years give or take."
"Mmm. Did you ever consider leaving her, abandoning her."
I winced, "When I first got custody yes but Now, Never."
He smirked, "Do you think your capable of raising her the rest of her life? Seeing as you are a model and models are busy with traveling & photoshoots."
I smiled right back, "Well considering I've done great so far whats another 10 years."
He smiled , "Thanks for your time."
I smiled and stepped down. He called every one of the boys up and questioned them and they all said how I had been a mom to Care. Then Caroline was called to the stand.
"Please state your name." said Joey.
"Caroline Russet-Lawley."
He smiled, and how old are you?"
"8."
"So what do you think about Chanel?"
she looked at me and answered, "She's my mommy. I love her so much and she's so fun and Like she always tells me DNA doesnt make a family, love does."
"Has she ever harmed you in any way."
Daniel but in and said, "Your honor off record."
The judge looked at Joey and he never got his answer.
after joey grilled Care it was our turn.
We called Kian up and Daniel started right away.
"Mr. Lawley you are 28 also?"
"Yes."
"And you are on YouTube?"
"Yes sir."
"So you dont have any other jobs?"
"No sir, Youtube has supplied me with financial support and I support myself just fine."
Daniel smirked , "Why did you and Miss Russet fake your deaths."
"We weren't ready to raise a kid. We had barely lived our lives but we are ready now."
"But you had already raised her for 3 years what changed ?"
"We saw all our Youtube friends living their lives with no care. Their friday nights were spent at clubs or the movies. Ours? Was spent at home taking care of our baby."
"But you signed up for it when yiu kept the baby. You knew what was in for you. What did you do to fake your death?"
He sighed, "We actually before the crash was going to leave and go to Europe or Asia without Caroline. We were driving home to do that when the car collided with us. Before everyone showed up they said we were fine just a few bruised bones. I bribed the doctor with 1,000$ to make us look like we were on our deathbed. He faked everything he said to Chanel. He made our monitors go flatline. So then when everyone left we bribed them another thousand to make wax dolls of us for the funeral. Go dig up the grave , the "bodies" are fake. We then swung by our place when everyone was at the funeral and took our clothes and passport and anything else. We then got on a 12:00 am flight to Italy. I am sorry that we left our kid when we should have taken her with us. But she is mine and andrea's. Not chanel's. Chanel is a child, she is nothing but an insecure teen with issues no one gives a damn about. Honestly I wished she had stayed in New York. My kid should not have found that letter or even gone to New York. Chanel is a bad influence with bad intentions She cannot raise this kid, She can barely take care of herself." I was shocked. I stood up and walked towards out without a word. I breathed shakily. I felt a presence near me and A warm hand on my shoulder .
"Im here now its okay." the husky voice of Sawyer said.
I turned and pressed my forehead against his. I shut my eyes and forced the tears away. One slipped out and he wiped it away with his thumb. He caressed my cheek with his hand and said, "I love you. Do not give up in there. Because you're going to walk out with Care in YOUR arms."
He kissed my cheek and I smiled. He stood up and held out his hand. I grabbed it and we walked back to win my child back.
Daniel decided to question Andrea so He called her to the stand.
"So Andrea it is true you wanted to and were willing to fake your death?"
"Yes its true."
"I only have one question. 1 week ago you kidnapped Caroline with intentions to flee the state and possibly the country. Why?"
I heard her breath shake.
"Chanel wouldnt let me hold her or come near her. She's My baby and I was willing to do whatever it took to get her back. Yes I kidnapped her and attempted to leave." I saw Kian groan and shake his head. The judge whispered to the Baliff and announced , "I have come to a conclusion. Andrea Russet and Kian Lawley, You are hereby under arrest for the attempted kidnapping of Caroline Russet-Lawley. Chanel Maraz hereby has full and complete custody of said child." I smiled and ran to Care. She jumped into my arms and I could feel the tears. I saw Andrea scream for Caroline and Kian looking guilty and sad. I set Care down and looked at Sawyer. He opened his arms. I ran into them and laughed.
He pulled back, "I knew you could do it Chanel."
I kissed his cheek, "All thanks to you Sawyer hartman."
