Chapter 46

Chanel POV
The next week was so stressful. I had a meeting with my lawyer telling me Andrea wants to work this out without going to court but she will. I had explain the best I could to Caroline why her parents were still alive and she took it so badly. Andrea and Kian dropped by a few times trying to talk to me or Care but the door never opened to them. We all finally agreed to a meeting at my lawyers firm. I dropped Caroline off at The guys and drove with liam to the firm.
We arrived shortly and I breathed out. Liam grabbed my hand and nodded at me. I opened the door and walked with him to the building. We went to the meeting room and I kissed my lawyer on the cheek and sat down next to him. Liam sat on my other side when There was a knock on the door. Andrea and Kian walked in and I grabbed Liam's hand. They sat across from us and My lawyer(Daniel) started talking, "Hello I'm Daniel Martinez and I'll be representing Chanel Maraz today. Miss Maraz agreed to this sit-down before any further actions were taken in the case." Daniel smoothed his suit and took a seat. I sighed, "I'm just gonna get to the point, what do u want?"
Kian glanced at Andrea and started talking,
"We want our daughter back. She is legally ours and we want her to live with us while we raise her."
I chuckled, "No. I raised her amd since you too abandoned her you gave me full custody so She's not legally yours. Hell, she's not anybody's ,she is a young girl who is independent and was raised by not just me but everyone except y'all."
Andrea spoke next,
"We used to be friends Chanel. I know how much you and the others resent us right now but you didn't understand how we felt at the time."
I almost laughed, "We Didn't know how you felt? They may not have felt it but I did.Some days I didn't want to be a mom I wanted to be 22 again where I had no care in the world. But guess what I dealt with it and It was one of the greatest experiences I got and you will not deprive me of that. You may have gotten deprived but that was your choice. I have love for yall but that's my child. You may have given birth to her but guess what? DNA doesnt make a family." By this point I was crying and liam was rubbing my shoulder. Andrea was shocked and kian was too. Daniel discussed something with them and then they left. Daniel kissed my head & left the room in complete silence. Liam took me home and then went to get Care. I couldn't deal with this so I walked to the beach to clear my head. But one thought never left my head, Would I get to keep Care if we went to court ?
