Chapter 4

Yunhyeong's POV

"So how did it go?" Donghyuk asked me as he was brushing my hair.
He came the next day to ask how the meeting went.

Jiwon and Jinhwan said they're on their way too so we both were sitting on my bed while waiting for them.

"Well... it didn't go too well at first. I had a breakdown and ran to the bathroom to cry. He followed me and tried to calm me down." I sighed deeply.

"But after that, we talked for a bit, he asked me out on a date this weekend and you're coming too to guard me."

"Why, where is this date?"

"On his territory."

"Are you out of your mind?"

"He's going to be my alpha. His territory will become mine. Does it really matter?" I rolled my eyes. "That's why you're coming with me. Hope that I won't need you and you'll be able to do whatever you want."

He sighed deeply, clearly not pleased from this.

"By the way... I also told him I already like an alpha... but that he doesn't like me back."

"You serious Yunhyeong?"

"You can't blame me! I had a fucking breakdown!" I whined.

"You can't tell the alpha you're marrying that you like another alpha!"

"Yes, I can! I don't want him! I never asked for this!" I gave him a look. "I'm... Trying to get used to him... So don't get upset with me because I'm being an omega..."

Donghyuk sighed deeply. "I think he'll murder me the second he realizes you talked about me."

"He won't. I don't need you two to fight."

"It's your fault for confessing your love to a different alpha."

"I already feel like shit. Don't annoy me."

"Was he nice to you at least...?"

"He tried to calm me... He understood that I don't have feelings for him... And he said he'd try to cheer me up. So... Yeah...I guess."

Donghyuk sighed again. "I can't believe you're risking your best friend like that. So cruel of you Yunhyeongie..."

"He won't kill you."

"Have you ever seen a true alpha being jealous? It isn't pretty."

"Have you seen an omega having a breakdown?" I asked. He knows I didn't break down in front of him.
When he told me that we won't be together, I tried not to look down and support him because it was already difficult enough. He didn't need to support a crying omega.

"Yunhyeongie-"

"Shut up. I'll make sure Chanwoo won't do anything to you. Stop making a scene out of this."

He sighed softly, continuing to brush my hair. "Did you tell Jinhwan and Jiwon?"

"Not yet. I asked them to come over, they should be here soon enough..." I said softly, resting my head against Donghyuk's chest.
"Do you think I'll like his scent as much as I like yours...?" I asked him in wonder.

"I don't know." Donghyuk sighed. "I hope you'll forget about me completely and start liking him. It's been years, Yunhyeongie..."

"It's not like I can help it. You have the right to reject me, but it doesn't mean I don't like you. Both as a friend and an alpha..."

"But this isn't healthy for you... I'm worried. I can't give you what he can. And I want you to be happy with an alpha that'll love you. You deserve it..."
