I woke up and saw there was no light streaming through my curtains. As my eyes adjusted to the dark, I squinted to see the alarm clock by my bed. 6:45. Sitting up, my head suddenly felt thick and heavy. A wave of dizziness passed over me. Reaching out to my bed side table to steady myself, I grabbed my phone. I picked it up and unlocked it. One new text message from an unknown number.

The text read, "Hey sweet cheeks :p"

Sweet cheeks?

"Who is this?"

In a matter of seconds my phone buzzed and a light flashed. The message said, "Your dream ;)"

I deleted both texts. My phone slipped and landed on the floor as I carelessly launched it over my shoulder in an attempt for it to land securely on the bed. My uniform was folded on my chair. I wrapped the tie round my neck and tugged it tightly over my shirt. The button on my skirt wobbled precariously as I fastened it. My blazer fit snugly, hugging my round my shoulders.

My hair only took a second to brush and then tie into a sleek ponytail. I applied a thin layer of concealer over my growing array of blemishes. My stomach grumbled but I wasn't hungry. I was actually feeling a bit sick. I grabbed the banana I'd left on my window sill and shoved it into my bag.

The door closed quietly behind me. My paper bag with my lunch inside swung and gently brushed my leg. The walk to school was always quick but today it seemed to whizz by. My mind was preoccupied. Mum and I had a fight last night, just a small one. She'd been drinking a bit and it got a bit out of hand. It was my own fault, I knew she'd be angry, I should've just avoided her.

As I entered the usually empty classroom promptly at 8:30, I noticed Jason, sitting in the corner playing with his headphones. I did expect to see him but it still made me jump. The door closed quietly behind me - not quietly enough to go unnoticed. Jason spun round. His eyes seemed to light up as he caught sight of who I was.  I must just be imagining it...

"Hey."

"Hi, you're early." He grinned.

"So are you.... Jason.... Was it..... I mean..... Did you.... The text?" I stuttered.

"Was it... The text.... You mean..... I have no idea what you are talking about." He winked at me. He swivelled the chair round to its original position and turned up his headphones loud enough for me to hear.
