I lay with my head on JJs shoulder. The ocean breeze along with the hot air making it the perfect day. JJ holds my hand, kissing my head every once in awhile.
"let's get our own place" JJ suggest. I look up a him with a smile "that would be nice" I say.
"I wonder what life would be like if you went back to Rafe like I told you to do the night we fought" he admits, squeezing my hand. "well... I'd live with my parents and you'd still be here. They'd except me again and you'd go back to hookups" I say clearing thinking about it more.
JJ looks kinda sad at the thought "would you be happier that way?" he asks with a frown. My lips press to his in a quick kiss "I'm happiest when I'm with you JJ, that's never going to change" I tell him, meaning every word that leaves my lips.
He holds me closer to him, I can basically feel the smile on his face. "I'm happiest when I'm with you to Cami" he smiles.
God do I love this man, this man I never thought I'd end up with, the man I once hid in the guest house. When I'm with him I feel 16. Like I'm with the pogue boy who stole my heart many years ago.
"you wanna dance?" he asks knowing full well that I can't say no. I smile up at him with a nod as he helps me up to my feet. I watch as he looks for a song on his phone before playing one to slow dance to.
"mmm fancy" I giggle while wrapping my arms around his neck and he hands wrest just above my hips. "I'm a very fancy guy" he replies.
I sarcastically roll my eyes as we sway back a fourth to the music. We inch our way closer to each other until we're basically just hugging. "I love you" he whispers. "I love you too"
The song goes on for what feels like forever until it finally stops and pulls away. I could sense a change in the air, like I was feeding off his nervousness.
"Camilla Thorton, you are the most beautiful, loving girl I've ever met. The first time I laid my eyes on you freshman year I knew I wanted to call you mine. And now I can do that. You've always been here for me and I always try to be there for you even when I'm not sure how to help. With that..."
My heart begins to beat faster as he drops to one knee, pulling a little box out of his pocket.
"will you marry me?"
"yes!"
He stand up and I jump into his arms. Tears gather in my eyes and I cry because of joy. I pull away from his hug and realize he also is crying. "Oh my god I love you" I giggle while he slides the ring on my finger.
I wipe his tears and cup his face before he kisses me. The kiss lasted awhile but it was filled with love none the less. We stand in each other's arms for a bit just soaking in the moment.
"do you like the ring?" he asks, breaking the silence. "are you kidding? I love it bub" I say while examining it. "oh thank god I was worried you wouldn't like it even though John B and Sarah insisted you would" he sighs in relief.
I take it back when I said earlier was the happiest i've ever been because right now I feel like I'm in the sky. I feel so safe when I'm with him and I never thought I'd feel that again.
But here I am with the man I love so dearly and my future husband...
