You wake up in a dark space, the only light source is that of a blinking red light from way above you. You check out your surroundings, noticing you seem to be in some sort of metal box. Slowly standing up, you gain your balance, only for the metal box to suddenly jerk twards the red light, sending you tumbling back to the ground. This box reminds you of something but you can't figure out what. In fact, you can't remember anything. Why can't I remember anything? I should at least remember my name, but I can't even remember that! What is wrong with me? You think to yourself. As the box continues towards the light, you slowly stand back up, grabbing a shovel to help you keep your balance. The box jerks to a stop, quickly filling with a bright light. A sandy-haired, nearly blond boy jumps into the box and though you know you should be frightened, you stand your ground.

"It's a girl!" he yells with a thick accent. You hold the shovel in front of you as he takes a step towards you, a hand outstretched.

"Back off!" You warn, voice faltering slightly. "I mean it, I will use it."

You jerk the shovel towards him, making him retreat slightly, hands raised in surrender.

"Easy there, Greenie. I'm not going to hurt you." He tells you softly, offering a small smile. "I just want to help."

"What the shuck is taking so long?" a voice yells from above. "Get her out of the shucking box already!" You look up to see about fifty or so boys staring down at you. Noticing a couple boxes next to the wall of the box on your left, you use the shovel to keep your balance and climb the boxes.

"Greenie, what are you-" the blond starts. You continue climbing, throwing your shovel over the edge, pulling yourself up after it. You stand up, gathering yourself and grab the shovel in case you need it. For all you know, these guys could try to kill you the first chance they get. Trying to get a better look at your surroundings, you take a few steps forward, the crowd parting all around you.

Gardens, trees, and buildings fill your vision, along with large walls surrounding it all. Moving forward a bit more, you spin around to take it all in.

"Magnificent, isn't it?" A voice asks behind you. You jump, spinning around quickly and accidentally hitting the person in the head with the shovel. Obviously, it wasn't too hard of a hit because the boy is still conscious, dabbing at the blood on his forehead with a wince and a small groan. He laughs when he makes eye contact with you. "Guess I sort of had that coming." Other chuckles from around you snap you back to reality. Looking around at the other boys, you tense up slightly.

"Alright everyone, you know the drill. Back to work!" A new voice interrupts the chuckles. A dark-skinned boy appears as the other boys start filing out, many of them with groans or mutters of "You're no fun Alby". I point the shovel at the new boy. "Easy Greenie, we won't hurt you." He states. He looks at the blond boy. "You okay?"

"Yep! Never been better!" The blond replies with a cheerful chuckle. You slowly lower the shovel.

"Sorry about that." You say sheepishly. The boy shakes his head.

"It could happen to anyone. I totally understand." He pauses. "Name's Newt, Greenie. Welcome to the Glade." The other boy clears his throat, reminding you he was there.

"Newt, why don't you go get that checked out with the Medjacks? I've got it from here." Newt looks at you and winks.

"See you around, Greenie." He smiles as he walks off, your eyes never leaving the sight of his figure cheerfully limping away.
